Jacques Martin Wins 600th NHL Game as Habs Defeat Leafs 4-1 – Sens Lose Fire Clouston – NHL SCORES – April 10, 2011 – Cornwall Ontario

Cornwall ON – The 2010/11 season ended on a bright note for the Montreal Canadiens.     They buried the Leafs 4-1 and coach Jacques Martin got his 600th win.

Montreal won it their way; keeping things moving, stopping the puck, and shooting just enough to win.

The game was never really that close with Montreal out shooting Toronto 34-28.   Ryan White had a goal and a fight during his 7 and a half minutes of ice time and I have hunch we’ll be hearing his name a lot during the first round of the play offs against the Big Bad Boston Bruins.

Toronto had the kids playing and there’s some optimism for Leaf Nation fans too; more so than last season this time of the year and I’m sure Brian Burke has some trades and moves ready for fans in the off season.

But for tonight it’s the last ebbs of this season and then time for the play offs!  Stay tuned for our fearless predictions on Monday!

Tacky Department – Sens GM Bryan Murray axed coach Cory Clouston today not letting his coach finish the year.

NHL SCORES: The Sens fell to the Bruins 3-1; the Rangers beat the Devils 5-2; Tampa Bay tripled Carolina 6-2; Florida shut out Washington 1-0; Buffalo edged Columbus 5-4; Philly beat the Islanders 6-4.

Montreal finishes with 6th with 94 points and a record of 43-30-8 and 212 goals for and 208 against.
