Cornwall ON – Well the Flyers no longer have cap issues as they traded away two of their big guns clearing up some of the dressing room buzz emanating from the city that once booed Mike Schmidt!
Those are two big contracts. In are the number 8 draft pick and three young players, Wayne Simmonds and Brayden Schenn from LA and Jakub Voracek from Columbus. That certainly gives the team some short, medium, and long term cap room.
With the draft coming up Friday teams are jockeying and positioning in what’s expected to be one of the busiest draft seasons in a long time.
We’ll be updating as moves evolve and kudos to team990 in Montreal and Tony Marinaro as the station picked up Canadiens radio broadcast rights for seven years.
Marinaro broke a lead about the Habs resigning Andrei Markov for 2 years at his current salary. I’m not sure about that one; but I do know that fans and the team will regret if they can’t find a reasonable way to keep Roman Hamrlik on the squad; especially if you compare team records when each defender wasn’t in the line up while the other was.
What do you think Hockey fans? Who’s going where and who’s drafting whom? You can post your comments below.
