CFN – It’s official!   Outremont NDP MP Thomas Mulcair has announced his candidacy to take over for the late Jack Layton as the leader of the NDP Federally.

This leadership race is about picking the person who is best placed to beat Stephen Harper in the next election. In order to defeat Stephen Harper we have to work on breakthroughs elsewhere while maintaining our support here in Quebec.

That pretty much sums it up.  The Ottawa born Mr. Mulcair joins party president Brian Topp, Paul Dewar, Romeo Saganash, Nathan Cullen, and Martin Singh in the quest to become the official leader of the opposition.

We recently interviewed Mr. Mulcair on Seawayradio.com LINK
