Habs win again! 2-1 over Boston – Sens nip Panthers 4-3 – NHL Scores October 28, 2011

CFN –  After six losses the Habs notched their second victory in a row beating the Boston Bruins 2-1 in Beantown!  Tomas Plekanec scored the winner in the 3rd.   Erik Cole put Montreal in the lead with another girl and PK Subban tangled with Brad Marchand.

It was weird land on Team 990 radio today as talk was rife over the Perry Pearn firing.  The weirdest moments being Pierre McGuire’s rant about Montreal GM Pierre Gauthier during Mitch Melnick’s segment.

It was a shocking diatribe from Pierre who looked highly unprofessional voicing what he said even if I agreed with many of his comments.  It felt more like he was lobbying for the GM’ s gig that simply commenting on Mr. Gauthier’s statements and performance?

Montreal out shot Boston 35-30 and while Boston laid on the body later in the game Montreal made the most of what opportunities they had.

Cole and Cammalleri led the Habs with six shots on goal each.    The Buzz was the return of Max Pacioretty after his brutal attack at the hands of Zdeno Chara.  Max was scoreless and only played 12 minutes.  Chara played his usual 27 minutes with no points or penalty minutes.

The highlight game of the night was Winnipeg outlasting Philadelphia 9-8 in Philly who haven’t seen a slug fest since Rocky!  Philly out shot the Peg 48-25.  So much for investing in that big time goalie!  All but three of the Jets had points on the evening.

Ottawa beat Florida 4-3 on goals from Colin Greening; Stephane Da Costa and Daniel Alfredsson.   Former Sen Mike Fisher scored 2 in Nashvilles 5-2 victory over Tampa.  Sergei Kostitsyn added a goal as well.

Anaheim ahead of  Minnesota 2-1; Buffalo doubled Columbus 4-2; Pittsburgh 3-2 in the shoot out over the Islanders; Toronto beat the Rangers 4-2 with the Monster in net after James Reimer was diagnosed with a concussion.   Phil Kessel did not score a goal.

What do you think Hab fans?  Is Jacques Martin out of the woods after winning two in a row?  You can post your comments below.

  1. Go Leafs Go!

Montreal did their best to hurt the Leafs by taking out their #1 goalie but The Buds are still finding ways to win.

    Go Leafs Go!
