CFN – The St. Lawrence Cornwall Sharks cross country team capped off their season with an excellent performance at the OCAA championships that were hosted by St. Lawrence College Kingston at the Old Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario.
Casey Atwell continued her successful season leading the way for the team in the women’s 5-kilometre race with another personal best performance. She finished in 22 minutes, 41 seconds (33rd), shaving nearly another two minutes from last week’s time of 24:31. The other women’s finisher was Gabrielle Honsinger in 47th place, 23:54.
The men’s team also saw huge improvements in their times most notably was Adam Home-Cutler who took nearly six minutes off his time from the Flemming invitational. Andy Yang let the way and finished the 8-km race in 33:51, good for 66th place. The other men’s finishers were Home-Cutler, 72nd place, 34:36; and Adam Cooper, 81st place, 37:41 also taking off over three minutes from his personal best.
The SLC Sharks will continue their season and compete in the 5 and 10 km events at the Heath Run in Long Sault, Ontario on Saturday, November 5.
