The goal of our Toys 4 Joy fundraising campaign is to make a difference in the lives of others by enhancing the holiday experience for children and youths living with cancer. Throughout our lives thus far, we have been taught that we can choose our life path, that we should strive to be all that we can be. This is our way of beginning that journey. We are fundraising to purchase Christmas gifts for the children and youth on the cancer ward of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO).
With the money we raise, we hope to brighten up their Christmas stay in the hospital. We are very proud to have the blessing of the CHEO Foundation and of Santa! These gifts will be for them all to use based on a “wish list” that the Hospital has provided us as a guide. We will wrap and deliver in time for Santa’s sleigh on December 24th.
The Sigma Chi Fraternity at uOttawa has been active in organizing numerous philanthropic events throughout the Ottawa community. Some of these include:
Homeless for the Homeless: brothers of the fraternity stayed and slept outside on the University campus in the winter to raise money for the homeless. We raised over $5000.
2011 Derby Days: fundraiser for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO): Sigma Chi Fraternity raised over $7000.

What We Need & What You Get
The goal of the Toys 4 Joy fundraising campaign is to raise $5000. Every $$ counts toward our goal and each and every donation is gratefully accepted and appreciated. Everyone who donates $5 or more will have their name and donation listed on this site as a testament of your generosity and as a symbol of our thanks. When our gifts finally arrive at their destination, the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) will receive a Christmas card accompanying the gifts with all your names listed so your contributions are recognized! As a special added benefit, all donors may experience a “warm and fuzzy” feeling of good-will that comes when making a difference in the life of another in need.
The Impact
With the help of your generous donations, we can give these children and youth at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) a Christmas to remember. We can show them through the stresses and pains of their daily lives, that a world of happiness and generosity is out there and that we are always thinking of them.
We will ensure the monies raised during this campaign go a long way and will find creative ways to brings as much value as we can to the gift-buying and gift-giving. No donation amount is too small, and we appreciate every single one. Their JOY on Christmas morning from the TOYS they receive are our ultimate goal!
