CFN – Here is your police blotter for the Cornwall Ontario area for Thursday December 15, 2011.
MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON- Willianne Harris, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on the 14th of December, 2011. It is alleged that on the 13th of December, 2011 she attended her neighbours residence and broke a window. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with mischief under $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 6th of February, 2012 to answer to the charges.
BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- A 34 year-old Cornwall man was arrested on the 14th of December, 2011. He was bound by a probation order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was also bound by a warrant remanding a prisoner with relevant condition to abstain from communicating directly and indirectly with his 26 year-old ex-girlfriend or her immediate family. It is alleged that on the 29th of November, 2011 while in custody he contacted his 26 year-old ex-girlfriend by telephone. He was charged with breach of probation order and disobeying court order. He was held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.
DRUGS, BREACHES & OBSTRUCT
Cornwall, ON- Lori-Ann Sheney, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on the 14th of December, 2011. She is currently bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of not to possess any non-prescription drugs and keep the peace and be of good behavior. It is alleged that on the 14th of December, 2011 she was found by members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit to be in the possession of pills believed to be hydromorphone. Subsequently to her arrest, she obstructed police upon a search. She was charged with possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, obstruct police and 2 counts of breach of undertaking. She was held in custody until court the following day.
UNLAWFULLY AT LARGE & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- A 17 year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on the 14th of December, 2011. The youth was bound by probation order with the relevant conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour and abide by a curfew 11 pm to 6 am from Friday until Saturday. He was also bound by a Warrant of Committal to Custody to serve 20 days in Open Custody followed by 10 days served under Supervision. It is alleged that on the 9th of December, 2011, he left without permission his residence being a group home. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located and charged with unlawfully at large and 2 counts of failure to comply with sentence. He was held in custody until court the following day. The youth’s name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
IMPAIRED OPERATION
Cornwall, ON- Marcel Desnoyers, 46 of Glen Walter was arrested in the early hours of December 15th , 2011. It is alleged that he operated a motor vehicle on Montreal Road while under the influence of alcohol. The male was arrested for impaired operation and transported for further testing which resulted in a charged of over .80. He was released to appear in court on the 3rd of January, 2012 to answer to the charges.
BREAK & ENTER
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigation a break and enter that occurred between the 13th of December, 2011 and the 14th of December, 2011 at a Baldwin Avenue business. The suspect(s) gained entry by breaking the lock and proceed to remove beauty products and an undisclosed amount of money. THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating the theft of a 2003 Ford F350 pickup truck, blue in colour which was stolen between the 9th of December, 2011 and the 12th of December, 2011 at a South Branch Road residence. BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- Richard Sawatis, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on the 13th of December, 2011. He was bound by two probation orders with the relevant conditions to keep the peace & be of good behaviour, notify change of address within 24 hours and not be within 50 meters of a certain address. He was also bound by an undertaking with the relevant conditions to keep the peace & be of good behaviour, notify within 24 hours change of address and not to be within 100 meters of a certain address. It is alleged that on the 10th of December, 2011 he was observed to be in the area of the said address. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. Investigation revealed that he failed to notify his change of address. He was located and charged with 3 counts of breach of probation order and 3 counts of breach of undertaking. He was held in custody until court the following day.
SHOPTHEFT
Cornwall, ON- Nathalie Lavigne, 21 and Julie Lalonde, 21 both of Cornwall were arrested on the 13th of December, 2011. It is alleged that the two females attended a Water Street store, concealed merchandise and made no attempts to pay for the items. The females were detained by the store’s lost prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service patrol Division. They were both charged with theft under $5000.00 and released to appear in court on the 17th of January, 2012.
