The Ghost of Jack Layton Bites Thomas Mulcair in the Buttocks, where he Carries his Passport(s)

CFN – Thomas Mulcair is being bitten by the Ghost of  Jack Layton as he’s being raked in the media over his dual French and Canadian citizenship.

“I would prefer that a leader of a party hold only Canadian citizenship, because one represents many Canadians, and for me that means that it’s better to remain the citizen of one country.”

Politics of course are a blood sport.   This NDP leadership race has been about as exciting as lancing a boil.   There clearly is one candidate of note; not that people like Mr. Dewar are bad, but could you really see him holding his own with Stephen Harper, Elizabeth May, or Bob Rae?  Or even Justin Trudeau?

Like I wrote recently about Mr. Harper playing a role in the Liberals decision on their next leader the latest media attacks focused at Mr. Mulcair clearly show the threat that he plays to both the Liberals and Conservatives.

In the meanwhile I have a hunch this long anti-climactic NDP leadership race is turning more voters off the NDP than on.

It should be interesting to see how Mr. Mulcair weathers this first storm in his ascendancy to the NDP leadership….
