DANGEROUS OPERATION, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON & BREACH
Cornwall, ON- Kevin Tait, 58 of Cornwall was arrested on June 12th, 2012. He was bound by an Undertaking with the condition not to have contact with a certain female. He is also bound by a Peace Bond with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on May 29th, 2012 while driving a motor vehicle he swerved towards a 45-year-old male and a 46-year-old female acquaintances. The victims did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with Dangerous Operation Motor Vehicle, Fail to Comply with Undertaking, Breach of Recognizance and Assault with a Weapon. He was released to appear in court on July 3rd, 2012.
REFUSAL
Cornwall, ON- Robert Ogle, 63 of Cornwall was arrested on June 12th, 2012. It is alleged that on June 13, 2012 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division conducted a traffic stop when the driver was unable to provide a breath sample into an approved instrument. He was charged with refusal and released to appear in court on July 3rd, 2012.
THEFT & BREACH
Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old and a 16-year-old Cornwall youths were arrested on June 12th, 2012. The 15-year-old youth was bound by a Probation Order with the condition to Keep the Peace and be of Good Behaviour. It is alleged that on June 12th, 2012 they attended a Brookdale Avenue business and removed property without making any attempt to pay for the concealed items. The youth’s were detained by the store’s Lost Prevention Officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Patrol Division. The 16-year-old was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and released to appear in court on July 26th, 2012. The 15-year-old was charged with Theft under $5000.00 and Breach of Probation Order. The youth was held in custody until court the following day. The youths names were not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
BREAK & ENTER, DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- A 23-year-old Cornwall male was arrested on June 12th, 2012. The male was bound by a Recognizance with the relevant conditions of residing with surety and abiding by rules of that residence; notify Cornwall Police within 24 hours of any change of address in writing, not be away from my residence except for employment purposes or in the presence of your surety or medical emergencies or to attend Court to meet with counsel. It is alleged that on June 10th, 2012 the males surety was revoked. It is also alleged that on June 10th and 11th, 2012, he attended his 25-year-old ex-girlfriends residence, gained entry and assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The male was charged with 2 counts of Break & Enter, 2 counts of Domestic Assault and 4 counts of breach of Recognizance. He was held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 38-year-old Cornwall male was arrested on June 13th, 2012. It is alleged that on June 8th, 2012 and June 13th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his 38-year-old common-law wife when he assaulted her. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault and held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim.

FEMALE ARRESTED IN CREDIT CARD SCAM
(North Glengarry) – On 12Jun2012, at approximately 6:15pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a female attempting to defraud a local business on Main St. Alexandria, On.
The investigation revealed that a female had attended a business a month earlier and defrauded the store using a stolen credit card. An employee at the business recognized the female as she attempted to use another credit card and advised police.
The 19yr old female (from Montreal, QC) was arrested and faces charges of:
- Possession of Fraudulent Credit Card
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance
- Use Revoked Credit Card
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Fraud Under $5,000
She was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
OPP CHARGE WOMAN FOR THEFT
(NORTH STORMONT, ON.) – On Wednesday, June 6, 2012, the members of the East Region Community Support Team and the SDG Crime Unit of the Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged a 55-year-old Cornwall woman, in relation to money that was discovered missing from North Stormont Township.
In December 2011, North Stormont Township located discrepancies within the Township’s treasury. As a result, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified and an investigation was launched.
The OPP have charged Monique LAJEUNESSE, the former Treasurer of North Stormont Township, with:
- Theft over $ 5,000
- Breach of trust
- Fraud over $ 5,000
- False statement in writing
She was released on a Promise to Appear and Officer-in-Charge Undertaking to appear in Cornwall Provincial court on July 3, 2012.
CHARGES LAID
(North Stormont) – On 09Jun12, at approximately 4:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a neighbour dispute on County Road 13, North Stormont Township.
The investigation revealed that there was an ongoing dispute between a 56yr old male (Jacques ROBERT of North Stormont) and several neighbours in the area. Further investigation revealed that that the male had become involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in him threatening and assaulting three males.
The 56yr old male was arrested and faces charges of:
- Assault
- Utter Threat
- Mischief
- Intimidation
- Criminal Harassment
- Obstruct Justice
He is scheduled to appear 03Jul12 in Cornwall court.
