Anglophones told to get to back of Bus in Cornwall Ontario LFA Protests French Health Clinic – by Don Smith

CFN-Earlier today members of the local Language Fairness for All – LFA group were joined by members of the Ottawa area Canadians for Language Fairness – CLF umbrella group in front of Cornwall’s taxpayer-funded French-only medical clinic.

In late May the groups converged in Chesterville, catching James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, quite off-guard.  We covered that story.  That day some members carried a makeshift coffin decrying the (near) death of democracy in Canada.  Today they were sporting a cardboard bus and shouting:  “Back of the bus, English; know your place.”  The groups are drawing attention to the apparent lack of fairness in current language laws, their interpretation and heavy public funding of minority language groups outside of the province of Quebec.  Today, they were specifically pointing out the disparity in funding and access to service, whereby hospitals and clinics are being pushed to be 100% bilingual or French-only, while English-only is no longer an option.

In our video clip you’ll see and hear their demonstration as well as hear from some participants, including a few newcomers.

  1. Democracy at it’s best! Way to go guys!

  2. BACK OF THE BUS……..LOL I can’t believe this nonsense!!!! Thinking CFN is grasping at straws to find news articles.

  3. Keep up the good fight.
Every little bit helps, especially if it gets in the news anywhere.
What we need is a few fair-minded Francophones to speak up for us.
Are there any such people anywhere at all? If so, please, please, speak up!

  4. French belongs in Quebec, English is spoken in the rest of Canada. French only medical clinics do not belong in Ontario or anywhere outside of Quebec. Most of all the citizens of Canada should not be paying for the French agenda, Trudeau’s agenda. Trudeau’s fradulent agenda committed on Canadians.

  5. Know what? In all honesty I would have been embarrassed to be standing there. I’ve seen many protest where people looked intelligent, calm and quietly went about their business to get their point or message across. To be yelling “Get to the back of the bus” and repeating ad nauseum is laughable and pathetic at the same time. A little professionalism goes a long way. The real message gets lost amongst the ridiculouness of it all. Thinking the coffin looked much better………LOL

  6. I cannot for the life of me understand why Harper and his men are so bent on trying to win over the Quebecers and furthermore it is difficult for me to understand why on Earth the Quebecers are bent on sharing their culture with the rest of the country.
The facts are simple, the present government has nothing to gain in PQ, and the Quebecers will never be able to recover their dying language by trying to cram French onto the multitude of ethnic groups that are struggling to learn the worlds International language which of course is English.

  7. Great job guys, keep it up….. you are standing up for all Canadians. Just remember, it was to appease kwebec, that we were segregated into two people’s. There is never any mention of all of our individual cultures. To admit that would mean the francophones weren’t the minority and sooo in need of protection and tax payer money.

Something else that needs to be brought to the forefront. We need to demand to see the language testing for these supposed bilinguals. Our kids in french immersion come out after 12 years with only an intermediate bilingual certificate, yet the
francophone children who struggle mastering their own language never mind ours are considered fluent.
Being fluently bilingual means speaking, reading, writing and understand equally in two languages, We have an illiteracy rate of 64% for francophones in new brunswick, yet they are all considered bilingual by our politicians.
Someday one of these supposed bilinguals is going to cause a serious problem especially in the health field with their lack of comprehension, be it in speaking, reading or writing of the english language.
    .

  8. Any medical centre in CANADA that refuses medical aid regardless of language should be shutdown and charge to the full lenght of the law.
If the Idea of practicing medical aid in english is OK, then the french language is the other side of the coin. Idiot way of thinking.
In CANADA all medical centres must treat patients. Doctors who take the the oath to become doctors in CANADA are obliged to assist in giving treatment regardless of language, creed, religion .
This I have always been led to believe. If I am wrong, please correct me.
    Have a nice day.

  9. Way to go! Keep up the good work and maybe the rest of the Anglophones will wake up and fight for themselves as well!

  10. Way to go guys!!!! and Gals!!! Awesome!!!

  11. @John Waletta

Quebec is not sharing their culture with the rest of the country. They are FORCING it on unwilling Canadians.

  12. Wow! I come from a french-speaking family. My great-great grand-father came from France (not Quebec) and settled somewhere around Cornwall. It wasn’t even that long ago that Cornwall had a whole section of town of french-only people. Most are elderly now, but STILL do not speak english. Should they be forced out of their hometown to go live in a french province? I don’t think so. We still have a need (although not as great as it used to be) for french schools, french churches…etc… I think french is a very important part of our heritage and it should be preserved.
Last year, my french-only speaking (3yo) son was hospitalized for a week. Not one nurse spoke good enough french to communicate with him throughout that whole week. Not only did he not understand a thing that was going on around him, he was very frightened. Luckily, I have a very supportive family. We made sure that someone from our family was with him at all times. I would have liked to have had a nurse or doctor that could at least communicate in the most basic way in french with my son, but there was no one.
That being said, I would rather have a very smart SPANISH speaking doctor/nurse (that none of my family would understand) than to have a very stupid french-speaking doctor/nurse. I am also opposed to a french-only clinic. They can employ french people and keep their signs in french if they want, but they should never turn away a person needing care.
Quality over Language. Health before Language!

  13. So many BILINGUAL supporters agree that FRENCH ONLY segregates a community! Once you start with French only, you shut out the majoirity and that is NOT right. Sorry but French doctors can work in in bilingual health care clinics. Funny how “OUI” NEVER MEANS “WE”. It always involves shutting the door on the English. Health Canada states that every Canadian is entitled to health care services no matter where you travel within Canada, but in CORNWALL, ONTARIO you will get tossed out on your nose and told to go elsewhere…..SHAME!!!! People are smart and see what is happening. The push continues. A French only clinic exists and they continue to work toward 100% ADVANCED FRENCH staffing at CCH! Not acceptable! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all of the people that stopped by the protest to join us and the new commenters here on FREE NEWS! Stand up, speak up!!!

  14. such a touchy subject, and even more frustrating to some…and cornwall free news is not helping. There are plenty of other subjects CFN could talk about. Is CFN run by Canadians for language fairness members?

  15. Dearest Patrick. Our Mission statement is quite clear in that we offer a platform for the community. We take submitted stories and opinions from all over Canada and locally. We allow comment on those stories. Whenever you stand up on a soapbox you can end up with confrontation. There’s room for just about all here and as I’m sure you’ve seen we try to be gracious hosts.

    The management 🙂

  16. I am also against french only clinics. Although, i very much doubt that people are turned away when they need immediate care. But, if its a clinic that is there to help francophones, I have a feeling that some unilingual anglos go there to either start trouble, go there and say they are sick (pretend like they have a cold) when they are not or because all the other unilingual anglo clinics have long line ups. Most businesses could learn a thing or two from the jean coutu pharmacy. BIg thumbs up to them because they operate in both official languages, you can get service anytime in french or in english, and they do quite well.

  17. You are a very gracious host… sometimes too gracious. It just seemed to me that maybe CFN talk a bit too much about language and could concentrate on other subjects. …as simon cowell would say…just an opinion.

  18. Patrick we talk and report about an awful lot of subjects. You just keep hanging out in the language ones 🙂

  19. Patrick, Free News represents all. That is why so many people are switching to them as their #1! So many other media are bullied into not reporting language issues. Free News has the guts to tell what is really happening and does not bow down to bullying. If you are truly against French Only Clinics then you should continue to speak out about that. Work with society to prevent segregation. The French Clinic would probably call 911 for an Anglophone, but that would be as far as they went. So before bashing the messenger, take a look at the real message. Don’t ignore it like the CBC. Nowadays the media is sooooo controlled. Free News you are a breath of fresh air…thanks!!!!!

  20. It is a disgrace to still have a french only clinic in our city, or anywhere else outside Kebec. I will never understand why they try try try to push their language & culture down our throats ,how is my forced french going to help their culture DUH !!!
I was never so proud of this group, just makes you want to join in & be a part of their history making protests.
My husband & children are all french but a family tree was done & indeed they did come from France…but you know what? before France they came from Ireland during the great potato famine where many starving & sick left for places like France,Canada & the U S A . Keep up the great work LFA BRAVO!!!!

  21. Thank God for the internet !! More and more people are now aware of what is actually going on and are speaking out. The French extremists have been pushing their language & culture through out Canada for way too long . . . and hopefully we’ll soon put an end to this “segregation” and “divisions” of the majority of Canadians.

  22. The FLSA claimed their protest at the Cornwall Community Hospital was “NOT” about language but rather fairness.

However, I would like to now if they sat down and talked to those running this clinic before protesting it?

The clinic can not accept any new patients proving there is a HUGE demand for French speaking Nurses and Docotrs in our community. Keep in mind they are not accepting new patients becasue they are full and for no other reason.

A gentle reinder if a 14 year old can copy your act then it looks immature and discredits your group that has just cause for its existence. Unfortunately, you all look like a bunch of angry, ignorant, d$$$#!

Just like a 14 year old boy….but atleast they have an excuse becasue they are too old for their blanky and to young for sex. Now thats frustration…..lol!

Either way please consider your approach! Image is everything at this point and so far the image is that of Anit-French and Cronic Complaining.

I hope you see my comment as positive critism with a joke thrown in because thats all it truly is.

    Thank You,
    Mike Bedard

  23. Congratulations to Language Fairness for All and Canadians for Language Fairness for standing up to the outright discrimination and segregation which most of Canada seems to be oblivious to! These trespasses against Canada must be brought to the attention of each and every Canadian, and it is the responsibility of each and every Canadian to tell their government that this is unacceptable. Segregating institutions based on language is equal to the US black’s and white’s discimination in USA prior to the 1960’s. Those of you who think differently, think about this!!. What would you think if this was an English only institution for English people only! Why are you allowing the French community to discriminate against you? They say this is done to create “equality” between the French and English…..hmmm….then true equality would be to have English only institutions as well. No matter how you look at this, IT IS WRONG!

  24. Mike your comment makes no sense at all. You don’t get it, do you? Segregation…..that is what our government is doing? Look up the meaning and see how good this is for a society. It divides people and doesn’t work.

As for image, people walking around quietly with boring signs do little to motivate people. LFA putting a little twist on things is a fun way to send a message and get attention. Lighten up!

The group is not anti-French as many, if not all have sent or have their children in French school. They have also taken French courses as well. Don’t judge people before you speak to them. Take a bit of your own advice!

  25. Mike are you O K,your letter doesn’t sound like it was written by an adult, more like an angry loser, you should have been so ashamed to have penned such hate mail

  26. What an insult to the the black people of north america struggling to survive inslaved , molested , hung by your people . You are no Rosa Parks. If you have lost your position in North America there is no one to blame but yourself, Happy Pride Day !

  27. FRENCH ONLY = SEGREGATION

    FRENCH ONLY HEALTHCARE
    FRENCH ONLY SCHOOLS
    FRENCH ONLY SCHOOL BUSES

WHAT’S NEXT FRENCH ONLY BATHROOMS,FRENCH ONLY DRINKING FOUNTAINS????

WAKE UP CANADA WE LIVE IN A SEGREGATED SOCIETY & OUR TAX DOLLARS ARE PAYING FOR IT!

Thanks LFA for opening the eyes of many to the oppression & segregation of our country…

    Time for change!

WE’RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!

  28. Firstly, I would say I am NOT surprised but I AM completely shocked to know that there are medical clinics in the province of ONTARIO that serve only French speaking patients. As a matter of fact I would go further and say, It completely shocks me to know such medical establishments are allowed to exist ANYWHERE in Canada (outside the “Province” of Quebec that is).

Absolutely nothing going on in that “province” shocks me or surprises me any more. One almost expects these types of things in that “province” now.

Back in February of 2006 Shirley Ravery was actually refused medical help from this clinic because she was English.
She was literally turned away when she showed up at the clinic hoping to see her own Doctor.

    http://www2.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/city/story.html?id=a23e725e-a7e8-4f3c-939e-2d20a5463f3a&p=1

I was not there myself but Shirley claims that no one even bothered to examine her to be sure her medical state was not of a life threatening degree before they turned her away and denied her medical treatment. That seems just utterly indefensible to me.

This kind of thing harkens back to the ridiculously discriminatory days of “white only” clubs, busses and restrooms etc etc…

    THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM…

Let us all be VERY MINDFUL that what happened to Shirley is something that happened to her (and others no doubt) within her own country and NOT just in the “province” of Quebec where we have come to expect this kind of behavior and treatment of our fellow English Canadian citizens.

Our federal politicians began ignoring the Canadian charter of rights with regard to what was going on within the province of Quebec years ago and this is now stretching outside Quebec to other provinces.

And of course, we have also seen how our Federal politicians have basically allowed the powers that be in the “province” of Quebec to think of that “province” as if it were its “OWN COUNTRY / NATION.”

Since it seems (to use a French term) a “fait accompli” that the powers that be in the “province” of Quebec are just going to do whatever they want, we MUST push back against this stretching our beyond that provinces boarders and into other areas in Canada.

Go Beth and Chris and all the others who devoted their efforts in this protest.
Keep building the numbers for this cause as it is important. It may appear slow at first but it will catch on.

  29. 2 official languages… nothing illegal about a french only clinic..Shirley`s own doctor had left a private practice to work in this clinic and she had 2 other choices of clinics plus emergency room to get health care.. My fellow Canadians of french language and descent deserve proper care in their most understood language. many immigrants have french as a mother tongue also in Cornwall, from parts of west Africa, and Viet Nam..just to mention a few.. so to clarify and I won`t type it in french because you french bashers don`t seem to understand the plain ol english sometimes… TWO official languages.. stop being sfraid of other cultures and forcing them to live in the “back of the Bus” like in the past… fairness means all not just one language group of extreme anglophones…french people`s taxes are used for generations for anglo services only!!!!!regulation 17 is dead ..reviving it and putting it on life support is not healthy.. if you are looking for conflict and victimization and ridicule you are heading in the right direction politically.. this is not Quebec.. And Quebec is part of Canada anyway… franco ontarians , Manitobans, Northern Canadians and all over Canada are large pockets and attachments to the first settlers of France !! Try reading moreactual Canadian history and learn that multiculturalism is real .. and stopping people from getting an official language service borders on the ingnorant..

  30. My thanks to Canadians for Language Fairness, Language Fairness for All, and the politicians/private citizens who are willing to stand up and be counted on the discriminatory practices of Official Bilingualism and Official Languages Act.

It is also heartening to see that the press/media have started to report on the continued discrimination against the English majority, in Canada.

The French minority continue to demand that the English embrace: French language, rights and culture…all the while forgetting that we (English) have our OWN language, rights and culture!!!

The rest of the World is embracing English for all business, commerce and trade…it’s high time that Canada follows suit!

  31. what`s the problem ? do you in LFA think that the small french population get better care at this centre? better than any of the 3 others in Cornwall? Do french canadians and Franco Ontarians pay taxes? rhetorical questions yes but ignored none the same.. Mis understanding and mis communications all over the map on this one..2 official languages yea!

  32. and i know this is a ridiculous question but i`m looking for an honest answer… how do you propose to serve the french language first or “bilingual” communities across Canada without bilingual nurses or doctors or mental health practionners? its still a matter of proper education and understanding.. and services.. do you just think all the “bilingual” french speakers will go away?

  33. Thank-you Mike B my thoughts also. It’s the way it’s done and how it comes across that makes it lose credibility. It’s would make a good comedy sitcom…….but I must say again, I rather the coffin, it had more punch to the message……..LMAO Pathetic!!!!!

  34. First of all thanks to all that joined us at the french medical clinic and as well as speaking up here on both sides- dialogue is uppermost important to resolve issues.

Mr.Bedard what respect I had for you is gone !
Your response “image is everything at this point”
You wrote as well “You all look like a bunch of angry, ignorant d$$$#!”

Then at the end you wrote “I hope you see my comment as a positive critism with a joke thrown in because that’s all it truly is .”

Sir a positive critism does not involve name calling -certainly a man with political aspirations as you have, should know better -but with passion on your beliefs you clearly showed that you believe in segregated health clinics .

Just remember “your image is everything at this point”

I lived in the deep south -it was an awakening experience-I have seen the racial divide on both sides of that fence .sigh-Sad:(

But now in my Canada I see it happening here:(
people are equal languages are not!

Disappointed with you Mike thought you were better then that!
    Passion trumps logic !

  35. Thinking Shirley knew is was a french clinic…..why did she go there? To stir more uncalled for $hit and to be able to tell the world she was refused care. There are 3 other clinics and the emergency she could have went to……why the french clinic? Whether you are french or english they are not taking anymore patients…….FILLED UP!!! That being said, it is safe to say THE FRENCH CLINIC IS NEEDED IN THIS CITY. If three other clinics is not enough, then perhaps the “equality people ” or whatever they call themselves today, should go to elsewhere but not CCH because of discrimination.

  36. “Language Debate won’t be solved by Us”

As this debate becomes ever more heated, it is apparent from recent editorials and blogs nationwide that this event is quickly becoming polarized. Canadians from Coast-to-Coast-to-Coast are commentating on the need for the existing policy of ‘Official Bilingualism’ – some for, some against, but all feeling very strongly one way or another towards this subject.

Never before in our history has there been a subject that has caused so much division amongst our citizens. Canada is a cultural and linguistic mosaic, made up from people of close to 90 languages and cultural backgrounds. The languages spoken by the majority of our citizens are either English or French. As of late, there have been questions raised by the merit of having ‘Official Bilingualism’. People have been asking questions pertaining to the cost/benefit of such a policy. There are growing concerns in editorials and blogs pointing to the fact that perhaps the money traditionally earmarked for bilingualism should be spent elsewhere. Some bloggers have pointed out that the money would be better spent on: healthcare, education, welfare, feeding the hungry, housing the homeless and a host of other social assistance programs. These bloggers have a good point and make a convincing argument. With government cutbacks taking place across the board, would it not be a good idea to use money set aside for ‘Official Bilingualism’ on other issues affecting all Canadians?

One thing is abundantly clear with this issue of language debate and ‘Official Bilingualism’. We cannot keep going along the same lines as we always have. The current situation is causing a division between Canadians; with one group reaping a distinct advantage over all others where provincial and federal government careers are concerned. And it hasn’t ended there. Increasingly, across much of Eastern and Northeastern Ontario, the private sector is also becoming victim of this policy. The irony of this language policy of ‘Official Bilingualism’ is that the creation of it was originally sanctioned to bring about the equality of the two languages spoken by the majority of Canadians and to ensure that Canadians had access to government services in both French and English. This is clearly not the case now. Thousands of young Canadians have missed out on jobs with both the provincial and federal branches of government. All too often they have been told things like, ‘You’re not bilingual enough’, which in reality, equates to not being French enough. Others have been offered jobs upon condition of passing a French language written examination, most of which they fail. Why is this the case? If ‘Official Bilingualism’ is the idea that the two languages are equal, where are the English examinations for those who are the successful candidates?

There are either two ways in which this issue will be solved. One is to have Revolutionary justice or civil war if you want to term it that. Things are getting so bad now that the NDP is trying to push a private member’s bill called the ‘Language Skills Act’ that would require all Parliamentarians to be bilingual. Thought of this way, imagine if an American citizen had to speak Spanish in order to serve in the American Congress? Now, this whole idea is ludicrous and reeks of elitism! There is absolutely no way to justify this, whatsoever! I say revolution
because our elected representatives are not listening to us. It’s not hard. Read the newspapers, watch the protests in New Brunswick and Cornwall, look at a lack of minority English rights in Quebec through various Bills, check up on the FLSA/OLA in Ontario, examine the Russel Township bilingual sign ruling. Any neutral politician worth his/her weight would take a look and say, “Wow, the people don’t really want these things to happen.” Unfortunately for both us and them, (politicians) they’re not listening. But I think something more sinister is going on here. It has to be! The evidence is pointing in this direction. There is a constant, organized and well-led attempt at the takeover of Canada by pushers of a French language agenda who wish to turn our country into a sort of caste system reminiscent of India.

The above is one direction this problem can go. There is one other though, more peaceful way. We need to stress to the United Nations what is happening in Canada at the moment. I think an independently led panel of International Human Rights lawyers/judges needs to examine how fair some of our laws are and if they’re deemed not to be fair for all Canadians, then something needs to change. This should be done at both the provincial and federal level and laws need to be heavily revised or revoked altogether if deemed necessary to do so.

  37. yes Stellaby starlight it is safe to safe taxpaying bilingual people and french first language patients are equal in value to any other Canadian …and it is filled to the brim…says it all.. Mike Bedard interesting you are trying to convey some sense of organization for Chris and his followers but they reject it… I got the message guess they missed it…

  38. stella “It would make a good comedy sitcom”
perhaps your right maybe the LFA can apply for street art to heritage Minister .

You know like the $110,000 to promote francophone culture in Montreal Rapper who advocated killing Canadian soldiers .

hey LFA it is an art form -there’s billions for culture -what cant your ENGLISh**smile**

  39. @Cory Cameron

There has to be somebody out there who has been refused treatment, before they were “full”, for speaking English. It would be reasonable that your group could assist that person(s) in a Human Rights Commission inquiry on a Charter issue. It might be the first legitimate case to be heard.

  40. The Canada Health Act sets out nine requirements that provincial governments must meet through their public health care insurance plan in order to qualify for the full federal cash contribution under the CHT. These nine requirements include five criteria, two specific provisions and two conditions. The five criteria, which are often referred to as the
“national principles,” are public administration, comprehensiveness, universality, portability, and accessibility; they apply to insured health services.

A few excepts from the act to ponder

Under section 10, the criterion of universality demands that all residents in the province have access to public health care insurance and insured services on uniform terms and conditions

The fifth criterion, accessibility, is set out in section 12: insured persons must have reasonable and uniform access to insured health services, free of financial or other barriers. No one may be discriminated against on the basis of such factors as income, age, and health status.

  41. Name calling is exactly what gets you nowhere if you want to work together for the good of the people! Beware!!!!!

  42. I don’t believe there will ever be a pan Canadian movement to support the rights of English speaking people who are discriminated against because what we see in Cornwall (from a national perspective) is a teeny tiny little street corner skirmish. And one of the reasons some people find the back-of-the-bus demonstration comedic is that the discrimination seems so unreal in 21st century Canada that it comes off more like an episode of the Trailer Park Boys. Fact is, until big segments of the populace experience the hopelessness of “you’re not good enough” or “non-French speakers need not apply” the issue will remain an anomaly affecting a few poor souls here and there. Meaning: No big deal for politicians. Just imagine if nurses at Sick Kids had to take a French proficiency test and/or citizens of GMT were denied access to medial care based on language.
To the demonstrators: you are courageous. Good in you.

  43. It has been quoted many times that those that do not learn from history are domed to repeat it’s mistakes.

I have yet to find a soul that disagrees with that statement.

This leads me to repeat two quotes by one of the worlds most famous politicians, Abraham Lincoln.

On June 16, 1858,he gave his now famous ‘House Divided’ speech.

“A house divided against itself cannot stand. I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved — I do not expect the house to fall — but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing or all the other. Either the opponents of slavery will arrest the further spread of it, and place it where the public mind shall rest in the belief that it is in the course of ultimate extinction; or its advocates will push it forward, till it shall become alike lawful in all the States, old as well as new — North as well as South.”

The speech contains the quotation “A house divided against itself cannot stand,” which is taken from Mark 3:25 “And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”

On November 19, 1863, at the dedication of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania,he gave a very short but powerful speech known forever more as the Gettysburg Address.

He ended it with these words that have become synonymous with democracy….

“..and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Almost 150 years later we here in Canada are not only living in a house divided, but also under governments that are not of the people , nor by the people not for the people.

We are a house divided because of official bilingualism and a small portion of our citizens who still refuse to live among us as one house, one nation.

Even so, they have managed to reach a position where less than one quarter of our population now sets the agenda for the other seventy five percent.

Their battle for Canada that they lost on the Plains of Abraham, they still conduct in our House of Parliament with almost no opposition from those who we the majority sent there.

What was started out as a supposed gesture of good will by the majority has be transformed into something just a bit short of a complete takeover by the minority french population.

Will Canada, this House Divided, end up in a bloody civil war?

Will the majority continue to allow themselves to be discriminated against in every aspect of their lives?

How long before the people can no longer tolerate their elected officials ignoring their complaints with closed eyes and deaf ears.

Even in Canada there must be a limit to the amount of abuse and discrimination that people are willing to accept.

One only has to look at or read the news of the uprisings in the Middle East that started with small groups protesting and finally taking up arms against those that failed to listen to their complaints.

  44. Robert Monkton…it looks, sounds, feels more like Anarchy than democracy..Anarchy skirts the established rules and laws of democracy…. nt healthy for any social convention….

  45. ole Abe also wanted to ship all african Americans and slaves back to their point of origin out of USA regardless of how many lived and worked for their freedom… its in the Congressional library records when he was a country lawyer running for elected office…,heaven only knows whta would have happened in US if he would have survived the assasination.. its a fact Robert.. read some of his earlier speeches…times were different and the only equality he meant was for the White American born land owner…not a free society where all “men” are created equal…sounds good though ..but remeber those words are a product of their time…..

  46. @ les habitants:

    How wrong you are..

    Definition of ANARCHY

    absence of government

a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority

Re:Anarchy skirts the established rules and laws of democracy

What you have described best fits the description of Canada today.

  47. hey Mr Monckton whos going to be your leader in this revolt Col. Russell Williams.Micheal Thomas Rafferty,Terri-Lynn McClintic , Hailey,Luca Magnotta aka {Eric Newman}.The french the natives and immigrants are not the problem you are.

  48. I’m no longer claiming to be a proud Canadian. Canada is turning into a ridiculous banana repuplic run by bilinguals that don’t know their heads from their a$$e$. English Canada has been sacrificed by prime ministers from quebec for the sake of a unilingual anti English province that has never done any thing to deserve it. Over a TRILLION wasted tax dollars in forty years on forced official bilingualism for every one but quebec, land of the anti English language police. Eight billion last year to subsidize that and the cheapest daycare and post secondary education in Canada. Dump bilingualism, transfer payments and if they don’t like that dump them and let them have better than their current PRETEND country. Taxation without representation. Stop treating us like suckers and stop voting your self raises while you flush what’s left of Canada down the toilet.

  49. Silent franco american; We don’t need a leader, just the will and determination to NEVER GIVE IN.
