CFN – Over 5,000 workers across Canada will be losing their jobs as the Zeller’s stores will be shuttered by March 2013. Since the sale to Target the demise of the stores was not hard to predict. The stores closing were the ones not selected by Target for reopening under the Target brand.
The Zeller’s store in Cornwall Ontario is one of the stores slated for termination. Cornwall is also the home of the new Target Distribution center which is due to open soon.

That blows. Zellers is a dump but convenient in the east end.
That is so sad for the employees but equally sad to see what is going to happen to the mall in the east end.
This is bad news for Corn (one step forward two steps back) For those persons working there it’s a sad situation. It also is very inconvenient for persons residing in the eastern part of our town, many of whom live close by & walk to shop there (seniors) & others who have vehicles but will have to travel much farther to shop for necessities . That store is not a dump WOW. If there are persons who really know whats going to happen there (perhaps our beloved Kilger ) The people have a right to know ASAP. We can blame City Council for their backwards thinking…Anyone been to Brockville lately.Population 22,000 & look at the shopping they have.Future Shop,Starbucks,Super Wal Mart & the list goes on…..

Jobs are slim in Belleville…things just went from bad to worse
The Zellers in White Rock/South Surrey is NOT closing down as stated above. It is still a Zellers store and it has only closed for a few days while restocking after their big sale to get rid of all the old stock. They will be re-opening on Wednesday, February 20,2013.
