Cornwall, ON- Robert Poirier 33, of Cornwall was arrested on the 30th of October 2012. It is alleged that on the 30th of October he was parked on Power Dam Drive in Cornwall when he was approached by police to make sure all was in order. Observed in the vehicle was a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and was later released to appear in court on 6 December 2012.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- an 18 year old Cornwall male was arrested on the 31st of October 2012. He was bound by the provisions of three (3) separate Youth Probation orders, all with the relevant condition to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is further bound by the provisions of a Recognizance with the relevant conditions to abstain from communicating directly or indirectly with a certain individual or from going within 100 meters of any place where she may be. It is alleged that on the 30th of October he attended a residence where the individual was visiting and followed her outside where he assaulted her by pushing and punching her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. The male was subsequently charged with Assault, breach of Youth Probation and two breaches of recognizance and held in custody until court later the same day. The victim did not require medical attention. The name of the accused is not being released due to provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON- Michael Johnson, 50 of Cornwall was arrested on the 30th of October 2012. He was bound by the provisions of a Recognizance with the relevant condition to report to the Cornwall Community Police Service every Friday. It is alleged that he failed to report and as a result was charged with Breach of Recognizance and released to appear in court on the 4th of December 2012.
BREAK AND ENTER
Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service are currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred between the 29th and 30th of October 2012 at a McConnell Avenue business. The suspect(s) gained entry into the business by an unlocked door and then attempted to gain entry into an ATM machine however were unsuccessful. (South Dundas) – On 31Oct12, at approximately 3:00am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Dundas Township.
The stop revealed that the 19yr old male driver (Varinder SINGH of Edwardsburg Township) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle
He is scheduled to appear 13Nov12 in Cornwall court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(North Glengarry) – On 30Oct12, at approximately 11:00am SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Kenyon St. Alexandria, On.
The investigation revealed that the previous day a male attended his girlfriend’s mother’s residence where he became involved in a verbal altercation with her ex-husband. The altercation resulted in the male being assaulted by the 45yr old male.
The male was located later in the day and arrested. He faces a charge of:

He is scheduled to appear 05Dec12 in Alexandria court.
BREAK AND ENTER
(North Dundas) – On 30Oct12, at approximately 10:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a break and enter on Belmeade Road, North Dundas Township.
The investigation revealed that sometime during the day unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a Samsung TV, Play station 3 and a compound bow.
The investigation is ongoing.
