Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Road Advisory 2012-12-27

 

(SD&G) – Ontario Provincial Police, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry detachment want to advise all motorists that adverse weather conditions are making travel dangerous. There are reports of numerous vehicles in the ditch on Highway 401 from the Quebec border to South Dundas Township.

Vehicles that have gone into the ditch will not be removed (unless they are impeding traffic) until visibility and road conditions improve.

SD&G O.P.P. is requesting all motorists to remain off the roads ways until conditions improve.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Domestic Incident 2012-12-27

 

(North Glengarry) – On 27Dec12, at approximately 4:00am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Bishop St. Alexandria, On.

The investigation revealed that a female and her 26yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.

He was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Overcoming Resistance to Commit Indictable Offence
– Mischief Under $5,000

He is scheduled to appear 15Jan13 in Cornwall court.
(South Glengarry) – On 25Dec12, at approximately 11:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Frog Hollow Road, South Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that a 20yr old female and her 24yr old boyfriend were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in them assaulting each other.

Both were arrested and face a charge of:

– Assault

They are scheduled to appear 15Jan13 in Cornwall court.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT, THREATS & MISCHIEF

 

            Cornwall, ON- A 35-year-old Rockland man was arrested on December 25th, 2012. It is alleged that in September 2012 he got into an altercation with his 36-year-old ex-wife when he caused damaged to her residence. It is also alleged that on December 24th, 2012 he got into an altercation with his ex-wife when he assaulted her, damaged property in the residence and threaten her. The victim suffered minor injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault, 2 counts of Mischief and Utter Threats. He was held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

 

BREAK & ENTER

 

            Cornwall, ON- The Cornwall Community Police Service is currently investigating a Break & Enter that occurred on December 25th, 2012 at a Second Street residence. The suspect(s) gained entry and removed a 43” Samsung TV, numerous DVD’s, PS3 games, Playstation Power packs, Chicago cutlery knife set, boys blue and grey Columbia winter jacket, girls blue two tone jacket and a NTC cell phone. BREAK & ENTER ARREST

           

Cornwall, ON- Kelly Van Allen, 49 of Cornwall was arrested on December 26th, 2012. It is alleged that on December 25th, 2012 he unlawfully entered a Second Street store and removed property. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was located and charged with Break & Enter and released to appear in court on January 29th, 2013.

 

WARRANTS

            Cornwall, ON- An 18-year-old Alexandria man was arrested on December 26th, 2012 under the strength of 5 outstanding warrants. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of notify the Cornwall Community Police Service of any charge of address, curfew of 9pm to 6am daily, not to be in the City of Cornwall except for court or employment and keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on September 6th, 2012 he failed to attend court and a warrant was issued. Between September 30th, 2012 and October 1st, 2012 he attended a local bank and fraudulently obtained an undisclosed amount of money. On December 26th, 2012 shortly prior 11:00 pm, it is alleged that he was found in Cornwall to be removing property from motor vehicles. On December 26th, 2012 he was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division and charged with Fail to Appear for court, 4 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking, 3 counts of Fraud Under $5000, 3 counts of Utter Forged Document and Possession of Property Obtain by Crime. He was held in custody until court on December 27th, 2012. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
