CFN – Local farmers, co-ops, food businesses, distributors and Student Nutrition providers will gather at the first-ever Student Nutrition – Local Food Connections event on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 starting at 9 a.m. at South Nation Conservation, Finch.
This free event will kick off with an introduction to Student Nutrition Programming in Stormont-Dundas-Glengarry (“Healthy Eating for Better Learning”), a government-funded initiative which provides funding for healthy breakfast and snack programs to over 60 schools in SD&G. Attendees will have a chance to network and develop solutions together to increasing local food in Student Nutrition Programs. A delicious local food lunch, catered by The Tagwi High School Hospitality Class, will be provided for all participants.
Sponsors of the event include The Greenbelt Foundation, All Things Food, and Healthy Eating for Better Learning.
While the event is free to attend, advance registration is required. Full details on how to register can be found at www.allthingsfoodbouffe360.ca.
