THREATS, ASSAULT WITH WEAPON, MISCHIEF & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 19th, 2013. The youth was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on April 2nd, 2013 the youth uttered a threat to her 33-year-old mother and caused damage to the residence. It is also alleged that on April 9th, 2013 she uttered another threat to her mother. It is also alleged that on April 11th, 2013 she got into an altercation with her mother and assaulted her, threw a cell phone charger and shoe at her and uttered threats. The victim did not require medical treatment. The youth was charged with Threats to cause damage to property, 2 counts of Threats to cause bodily harm, 2 counts of Assault with a weapon, Mischief under $5000 and Breach of Probation Order. She was released to an adult to appear in court on May 16th, 2013. The youths name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- An 18-year-old Cornwall female was arrested on April 19th, 2013. It is alleged that on April 18th, 2013 she got into an altercation with her 22-year-old boyfriend when she pushed him. As the argument continued she pushed him resulting in him falling down the stairs. The victim did not require medical treatment. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with 2 counts of Domestic Assault and released to appear in court on May 21st, 2013. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim.
THEFT & BREACH
Cornwall, ON- Kimberly Laird, 32 of Cornwall was arrested on April 19th, 2013. She was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on April 19th, 2013 she attended a Water Street store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for the concealed item. She was detained by the store’s loss prevention officer and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division. She was charged with Theft under $5000 and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. She was released to appear in court on June 4th, 2013.
Cornwall, ON- Bradley Johnson, 39 of Cornwall was arrested on April 20th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour and not to attend a certain store on Ninth Street. It is alleged that on April 13th and 15th, 2013, he attended the Ninth Street store and removed property without making any attempts to pay for it. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Theft under $5000 and 4 counts of Breach of Probation Order. He was released to appear in court on May 14th, 2013.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON- Robert Cadieux, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on April 19th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of not to associate, contact or hold any communication directly or indirectly with a certain 40-year-old person and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on April 19th, 2013 he had contact with the said 40-year-old person. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order and released to appear in court on May 23rd, 2013.
DRUGS
Cornwall, ON- Colin McDonald, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on April 19th, 2013. It is alleged that on April 19th, 2013 he was found by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service Community Patrol Division with a controlled substance believed to be marijuana. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled substance and released to appear in court on June 11th, 2013.
Cornwall, ON- A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on April 20th, 2013. It is alleged that on April 2nd, 2013 she was found by school staff to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be amphetamine (speed). Police were contacted and an investigation followed. She was charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking. She was released to an adult to appear in court on May 16th, 2013. Her name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON- Jamie Marsolais, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on April 20th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour and abstain from the purchase/possession/
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON- Laura Primeau, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on April 20th, 2013 under the strength of an outstanding warrant. She was bound by two Undertakings with the conditions of keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on March 13th, 2013 she fail to attend for fingerprints. She was located and charged with Fail to attend for fingerprints and 2 counts of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. She was released to appear in court on May 21st, 2013.
ASSAULT POLICE & RESIST ARREST
Cornwall, ON- Kristopher Johnsen, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on April 20th, 2013. It is alleged that on April 20th, 2013 while intoxicated he refused to provide his name to members of the Cornwall Community Police Service. Upon his arrest, he resisted and attempted to assault a police officer. He was charged with Assault a Peace Officer and Resist arrest. He was released to appear in court on June 4th, 2013.

The suspect(s) gained entry and removed numerous food items and an undisclosed amount of loose change. Cornwall, ON- A 45-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 21st, 2013. He was bound by an Undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour and abstain from communicating with his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend. It is alleged that on April 18th, 2013 he contacted his 20-year-old ex-girlfriend by phone on two separate times. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. He was charged with 4 counts of Fail to comply with Undertaking and held in custody until court the following day. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this matter.
BREAK & ENTER ARREST
Cornwall, ON- Two males were arrested on April 22nd, 2013. It is alleged that shortly prior to 4:00 am on April 22nd, 2013 they gained entry to a Montreal Road store by smashing a window. They removed some property and fled the scene. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. They were identified with aid of the stores surveillance video system and located a short time later.
An 18-year-old Cornwall man was bound by a two Probation Order with the conditions to abide by a curfew of 11pm to 6am Sunday to Thursday, keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He was charged with Break & Enter and 2 counts of Breach of Probation Order. He was held in custody until court later that day.

Cornwall, ON- A 17-year-old Montreal youth was arrested on April 18th, 2013. He was bound by a Recognizance with the conditions to report by telephone to the Cornwall Police every Friday between 8am and 6pm. It is alleged that on March 15th, 2013 he failed to report. He was located and charged with Fail to Comply with Recognizance and held in custody until court later that day. His name was not released as per provision under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON- Dean McLaughlin, 21 was arrested on April 19th, 2013. He was bound by a Probation Order and an Undertaking with the conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that on January 31st, 2013 he failed to attend for fingerprints. He was located and charged with Fail to Appear, Breach of Probation and Fail to Comply with Undertaking. He was released to appear in court on May 7th, 2013.
Cornwall, ON- Cassandra Garreau, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on April 19th, 2013. She was bound by a Recognizance with the condition to report to the Cornwall Community Police Service in person every Monday between the hours of 8am and 8pm. It is alleged that on April 11th, 2013, she failed to attend for fingerprints and also failed to report on April 15th, 2013. She was charged with Fail to Attend for fingerprints and Fail to comply with Recognizance. She was held in custody until court later that day.

(South Dundas) – On 20Apr13, at approximately 1:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on County Road 31, South Dundas Township.
The stop revealed that the 35yr old male driver (Ryan BROWN of Kanata, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle
He is scheduled to appear 07May13 in Cornwall court.
(North Glengarry) – On 21Apr13, at approximately 5:45pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of two men discharging firearms from the roadway on Auld McMillan Road, North Glengarry Township.
The investigation revealed that a 20yr old male (Maxime Lachance of Coteau Du Lac, QC) and his 17yr old male passenger (from Pointes-Des-Casades, QC) were in possession of firearms and discharging same from their vehicle.
Both men were arrested and face charges of:
– Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
– Careless Use of firearm, Weapon, Ammunition
– Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm
– Unlawfully discharge firearm from vehicle
Both men are scheduled to appear 12June13 in Alexandria court.

(SD&G) – SD&G OPP would like to remind you that this is the time of year that a certain type of criminal becomes active. They usually work with three or four people in a paving or residential maintenance crew.
They could be from another area of the province or another country. They will attend a residence and do a good job for a fair price, then once the word has spread that they are a reputable group, the less than professional work comes into play.
These criminals target older and vulnerable people. They are pushy and will go to great lengths to secure a job and payment before the work is completed. They use tactics that make people feel that they have to have the maintenance done, and on completion the home owner is far from satisfied.
The SD&G OPP wants to advise our residents that nothing has to be done under pressure. Always ask for a list of other satisfied customers in the area. They should be able to provide this along with a written estimate for the job you want completed. Get more than one estimate.
If you are not sure, consult a family member or close friend about the work and the price that is being suggested. If you feel the people attending your property are trying to intimidate you and are putting pressure on you, ask them to leave. Write down any information you may observe about their description, number of people, and the vehicles that they are using, especially a licence plate. Call 888-310-1122 to report them to the OPP immediately.
There are many excellent, reputable contractors in our area. Make sure you make an informed choice before allowing anyone to do work for you.
Remember, you are the home owner and you decide what work you want done and you choose the contractor to complete it.

(North Dundas) – On 18Apr13, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a theft on County Road 3, North Dundas Township.
The investigation revealed that sometime between 8th – 14th April 2013 unknown suspect(s) attended a business and removed a 2008 Triton aluminum (double) snowmobile trailer.
The investigation is ongoing.

(Smiths Falls, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police in East Region have completed their Distracted Driving Campaign to raise awareness of how important it is to pay attention and obey the law while driving. The weeklong event, from April 15th through to the 21st resulted in 457 distracted driving charges and 7 careless driving charges across the region.
Using electronic devices while driving is a serious safety problem. Most drivers know that texting while driving is a dangerous behaviour, but many still use their cell phones and other mobile devices when they are behind the wheel, putting themselves and others a risk. Many drivers see distracted driving as risky behaviour when others do it, but fail to recognize their own vulnerability.
Save a life…maybe your own. Don’t drive distracted, pay attention and remind others to do the same.
