DRUG SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED – MARIJUANA GROW OPERATION SHUT DOWN
Cornwall, ON- Members of the Cornwall Community Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a drug search warrant shortly after 11:40 am on May 30th, 2013 at a Cumberland St. residence. As a result of the investigation, Juanita Fisher 41 of Cornwall and Clifford John Locey 30 of Cornwall were arrested and each charged with three (3) counts of possession of a controlled substance being marijuana and one (1) count of production of a controlled substance marijuana. Police seized over 28 marijuana plants, Marijuana, hashish oil and psilocybin. The total value of seized drugs is estimated at $10,612.50.
Both were released on an undertaking by the Officer in Charge to appear in court on June 20th, 2013.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT & BREACHES
Cornwall, ON- A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 1st, 2013. He is bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. It is alleged that during the early hours of June 1st, 2013 he attended the residence of his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend when he assaulted her. Police were contacted and an investigation followed. The male was charged with Domestic Assault and 1 counts of Breach of Probation Order. The victim did not require medical treatment. He was released on an undertaking by the Officer in Charge to appear in court on July 2, 2013. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in this incident.

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
DOMESTIC INCIDENT
(South Stormont) – On 31May13, at approximately 11:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic incident on Neville Road, South Stormont Township.
The investigation revealed that a female and her 34yr old common-law husband were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in the male assaulting the female.
He was arrested and faces a charge of:
– Assault
He is scheduled to appear 18June13 in Cornwall court.
IMPAIRED DRIVER
(South Glengarry) – On 02June13, at approximately 5:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.
The stop revealed that the 20yr old male driver (from Laval, QC) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana
– Race a Motor Vehicle
– Dangerous Operation – Motor Vehicle
– Breach of Probation Order
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
(South Glengarry) – On 02June13, at approximately 02:30am, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.
The stop revealed that 23yr old male driver (Julien LEBLANC of Cornwall, On) was operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
– Impaired Operation / Motor Vehicle / Alcohol
– Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood alcohol Content / Motor Vehicle
He is scheduled to appear 03Jul13 in Alexandria court.
BREACHED CONDITIONS
(South Glengarry) – On 02June13, at approximately 2:30pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a male breaching his release conditions on Broad St. South Glengarry Township.
The investigation revealed that a 21yr old male was breaching his earlier release conditions by having a cell phone is his possession.
He was arrested and faces charges of:
– Fail to Comply with Undertaking or Recognizance x2
He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
STOLEN VEHICLE
(South Stormont) – On 03Jun13, at approximately 2:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Highway 138, South Stormont Township.
The investigation revealed that sometime during the evening unknown suspect(s) attended a residence and removed a 2009 Kawasaki ATV (all-terrain vehicle) from a driveway.
The investigation is ongoing.
SD&G OPP SERVE IT UP AT ANNUAL CHEO FUNDRAISER
(North Glengarry) – On Sunday June 02, 2013 SD&G OPP uniformed and Auxiliary officers assisted with the annual CHEO Brunch fundraiser at the Sacred Heart church hall in Alexandria. Approximately 200 breakfasts were served with $1680.00 raised for a great cause!
