UNLAWFULLY AT LARGE
Cornwall, ON- A 14-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 4, 2013 at approximately 8 :10 p.m. He is bound by Probation Order with the relevant conditions to comply with the routine and discipline of his residence and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is also bound by a recognizance with the relevant conditions to be amenable to the routine and discipline of his residence and to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He is bound by another recognizance with the relevant condition to be amenable to the routine and discipline of his residence. On June 4, 2013, at approximately 7 :38 p.m.,while in custody on a remand warrant, he left his residence, breaching the warrant. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. He was located and charged with being unlawfully at large, two counts of breach of probation and three counts of breach of recognizance. He was held for a bail hearing on June 5, 2013. His name is not being released as per provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT and DOMESTIC MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON- A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 4, 2013, at approximately 7 :08 p.m. It is alleged that on this date he engaged in a verbal argument with his wife which escalated into him kicking in the apartment door and knocking his wife to the ground. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. He was charged with domestic assault and domestic mischief under $5000. He was held in custody for a bail hearing on June 5, 2013. The man’s name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON- A 32-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on June 4, 2013, at approximately 6 :57 p.m. It is alleged that on this date she engaged in a verbal argument with her 38-year-old common-law wife who was attempting to end the relationship and exit the residence. She prevented her from leaving by grabbing her by the wrists, pushing her away from the door, and pulling her back into the residence. During the argument, she also picked up a wooden chair and slammed in to the ground causing the rear leg to break. The 38-year-old woman eventually managed to leave and attend a neighbour’s residence. Police were contacted and an investigation was conducted. The 32-year-old woman was charged with domestic assault, forcible confinement and mischief under $5000. She was released to appear in court on July 16, 2013. The 32-year-old woman’s name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
COMMUNICATING FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROSTITUTION
Cornwall, Ont. – The Cornwall Community Police Service’s Street Crime Unit arrested an individual following an investigation into recent complaints of prostitution in the area of Montreal Road and Louisa Street.
Chantal Wolfe, 27 of Cornwall was charged with communicating for the purpose of prostitution shortly before 12 p.m. on the 4th of June, 2013 after she allegedly propositioned an undercover officer.
Further investigation showed that she is bound by a Probation Order with the conditions of to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result she was also charged with breach of probation.
She was held in custody for a bail hearing on June 4th, 2013.
The Cornwall Community Police Service will continue to perform pro-active random checks and investigations in order to deal with our communities concerns.
