Cornwall Ontario Sea Cadets Sail through Annual Review – by Don Smith

CFN – On Saturday afternoon, Reviewing Officer Rear Admiral P.T. Finn, Chief of Staff – Materiel Group, had the honour of inspecting 110 Stormont at their headquarters at the Cornwall Armoury. Finn is pictured with Corps’ Commanding Officer Wendy King Bougie, inspecting the band and receiving a gift from the Corps.

Bill Wilson, Navy League of Canada – Ontario Division, Vice president of Maritime Affairs addressed the Corps and presented a new award – the Navy League of Canada Ontario Division Top Sea Cadet Marksman Air Rifle Marksmanship Competition.

Other awards included the Ernest W. Filion Memorial Trophy for best display at Review, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 297 Trophy for Best Dressed Sea Cadet at Annual Review, the Navy League of Canada Cornwall Branch Plaque for Best Static Display at Annual Review, the Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence for Outstanding Leadership and Community Service and the Captain’s Prize Plaque for Best All Around Cadet. Several additional awards had already been presented on May 6 at the Awards Night.

Stormont’s band, under the direction of Lt. (N) David Barkley, was in top form. In our video clip, viewers are invited to enjoy some contemporary and traditional numbers.
