CFN – An autopsy confirmed that Melissa Richmond is the body discovered in Ottawa Sunday. The Ottawa Police released information below and the case is considered a homicide.
A post mortem examination has confirmed the identity of a body discovered Saturday in Ottawa. The victim is Melissa Kelly RICHMOND, 28 years old, of North Dundas Township.
The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) now consider this case a homicide.
She was last seen leaving her residence on July 24th and her vehicle was located on July 26th in Ottawa’s south end. She was the subject of a missing person investigation led by the OPP.
The OPS Major Crime Section and OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are conducting a joint investigation. There is no information available about possible suspect(s) at this time.

This is a very sad day for the family and friends of Melissa. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during these difficult times. I didn’t know her personally, but it is always tough to hear about someone from our local community.
The police are not releasing any info as to whether they have any suspects or other information at this time.
Our heart, prayers, sympathies are going out to the family and to all who knew her. This is very sad.
I am so sorry to hear of this turn in the events. I was praying diligently for a safe return home. Sympathies to all those who knew Melissa especially her family and close friends. I know Melissa will be missed dearly. She may now be gone but will always be loved and NEVER forgotten.
