            Cornwall, ON – Angeline Ceaser, 18 was arrested on November 26th, 2013 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the woman failed to attend court on November 25th, 2013 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On November 25th, 2013 the woman was located at the Cornwall Court House, arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

Cornwall, ON – Edwin Benedict, 45 of Akwesasne was arrested on November 26th, 2013 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on October 9th, 2013 the man attended a Ninth Street store and removed a door handle from the shelf with a value of approximately $170 then left the store without making attempts to pay for the item. A warrant was issued for his arrest as his whereabouts was unknown. On November 26th, 2013 the man was spotted by police walking on Montreal Road and as a result he was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released with a court date of December 17th, 2013.

 

CRIMINAL HARASSMENT

 

            Cornwall, ON – A 43-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on November 26th, 2013 and charged with criminal harassment. It is alleged that on November 25th, 2013 the man attempted to communicate with his 34-year-old ex-girlfriend on several occasions despite being warned by police not to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On November 26th, 2013 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

TRESPASS BY NIGHT, BREACH

 

            Cornwall, ON – Johnathan Charlebois, 26 of St-Andre D’Argenteuil, Quebec was arrested on November 27th, 2013 and charged with the following:

  • Trespass by night
  • Obstruct police
  • Breach of recognizance for failing to keep the peace and being away from a specific address without permission.

It is alleged that in the early morning hours of November 27th, 2013 the man was spotted going through yards in the Fifteenth Street west area and police were contacted. During their investigation they located and arrested the man who had misled them by giving a wrong name. The man was also found to be away from a specific address without permission. He was subsequently charged accordingly and transported to police headquarters to await a bail hearing.

(North Glengarry) – On 25Nov13, at approximately 11:30am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a mischief on Sinclair St. North Glengarry Township.

The investigation revealed that two males were involved in a verbal altercation when one male assaulted the other and damaged his vehicle.

The 25yr old male (from North Glengarry) was arrested and faces charges of:

– Assault
– Mischief Under $5,000
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.
TRAFFIC STOP NETS DRUGS

(South Glengarry) – On 25Nov13, at approximately 7:30pm, SD&G OPP officers had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure (small amount) of suspected marihuana.

The 26yr old male driver (Andrew COLASANTE of Toronto, On) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 05Feb14 in Alexandria court.

Man arrested on TTC bus, Loaded handgun seized, Second loaded handgun seized in search warrant, Darnell Garnes, 18, faces 16 charges

On Thursday, November 21, 2013, at approximately noon, police investigated a man riding on a TTC bus in the Malvern area.

It is alleged that:

– the man had a fully loaded revolver in his pocket

A search warrant was subsequently executed on the man’s home.

It is further alleged that:

– a second, fully loaded, revolver was recovered as well as a quantity of narcotics

Darnell Garnes, 18, of Toronto, is charged with:

1) two counts of Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
2) two counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
3) Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
4) Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
5) two counts of Possession of Firearm with Serial Number Removed
6) Possession of Firearm in Motor Vehicle
7) two counts of Careless Storage of Firearm
8) two counts of Weapons Dangerous
9) Carry Concealed Weapon
10) Possession Methamphetamine for Purpose Trafficking
11) Possession Methamphetamine

He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, November 29, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Toronto East Courts, in courtroom 412
