CFN – Homestead Organics is moving their grain operations to Morrisburg. Tom Manley held a press conference in their new facility yesterday to announce the finalizing of the purchase of the property on Allison Drive in Morrisburg. Tom, along with his father Murray and his son Yannik, outlined the rational of the move from Berwick and the plans to move all of their production to Morrisburg. The move to the new building will start right away and continue through the winter.
During a tour of the new facilities Tom pointed out that the building has more capacity than required for their grain processing and the excess will be available to other related businesses for lease.
It is refreshing getting news of new or expanding food processing operations in Ontario instead of announcements of job losses. We wish Homestead Organics all the luck in the world but with their cautious careful planning I’m sure they won’t need it.

Congratulations to Homestead Organics and the Manley family, et bonne chance!
Congratulations to the Manley family. We need organic food. We are presently eating GMO garbage and no wonder that people are sick. Good food, good water and clean air is an absolute must. All the best to you all and anybody who wants to undertake this kind of thing is steering in the right direction. Go organic and try to stear away from the GMO garbage.
