Cornwall Ontario – Cornwall Ontario is losing another Hotel honcho as Paul Lefebvre is moving his family to South Stormont Ontario. Mr. Lefebvre, poobah at the Best Western Plus Parkway Inn & Conference Centre, didn’t have a comment as of press time and is building a new home for his family.
Scott Lecky and his family, of the Ramada here in Cornwall also left the confines of the River City.
South Stormont has been booming. In addition to attracting some of the cream of the crop from Quebec and Ottawa that are settling in the area, South Stormont has the highest per capita rate of Cornwall City current and retired employee’s living in its boundaries as the tax rates are dramatically lower than in Cornwall!
Mayor Bryan McGillis of South Stormont shared that growth has been strong with many new planned sub divisions that have come to fruition and filled up. This has helped the tax base keeping residents tax bills lower than some other communities.
Now hopefully Mr. Lefebvre will be joining the South Stormont Chamber of Commerce soon as we’re holding a membership drive!
