CFN – St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Police, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Franklin County Cause and Origin and New York State Fire Investigators are investigating a fatal fire reported shortly before 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
Social media are reporting that a father and two sons under six perished in the fire on St. Regis Road on the American side of the Reservation.
A statement was issued by the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe following statement Monday morning:
“The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred at 184 St. Regis Road at approximately 10:20 a.m. on January 26, 2014. The following agencies are assisting with the investigation: New York State BCI, Franklin County Fire Department Cause and Origin Unit and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control. Police are asking for anyone with pertinent information regarding the incident to call Investigator Decota Thompson at 518-358-9200. On behalf of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe, we express our deepest sympathy to the family.”
