Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 7th, 2014 and charged with assault. It is alleged that on February 4th, 2014 while involved in a verbal argument with his 17-year-old girlfriend the man grabbed his girlfriend and pushed her back onto the couch. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 7th, 2014 police attended the man’s residence, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 30-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 8th, 2014 and charged with assault. It is alleged that in the month of August, 2013 the man was involved in an argument with his 27-year-old girl-friend when he grabbed her by the wrist and pushed her. Police were contacted on February 7th, 2014 and an investigation ensued. On February 8th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on March 4th, 2014. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Kathern Riviere, 51 of Cornwall was arrested on February 7th, 2014 and charged with breaching her probation order for being outside her residence after having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on February 7th, 2014 the intoxicated woman attended police headquarters to speak to police about a non-emergency matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released once sober to attend court at a later date.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 7th, 2014 on the strength of a probation office warrant. It is alleged that the youth was breaching his probation order for residing at a place not approved by probation and for failing to attend school. A warrant was issued for his arrest and on February 7th, 2014 police attended a Louisa Street address and took the youth into custody. He was transported to police headquarters and later released to attend court on March 13th, 2014. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 50-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 8th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant for criminal harassment and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the man communicated with a 50-year-old woman who is known to him despite having been told by her to cease all communications. The man continued to call and text her on several occasions until police were called. On February 8th, 2014 police located the man at a Second Street East residence, took him into custody and held him for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

Cornwall, ON – Jason Gougeon, 34 of Cornwall was arrested on February 8th, 2014 on the strength of a probation office warrant. It is alleged that the man failed to report to probation as required and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On February 8th, 2014 police attended a Marlborough street address in relation to a disturb the peace call. While speaking with the man police learned that a warrant was in place for his arrest. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and later released to appear in court on March 14th, 2014.

 

DRUG WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – On February 7th, 2014 members of the Cornwall Street Crime Unit executed a drug warrant at a Fifth Street East residence and arrested Matthieu Boudrias, 24, Robert Bovington,29 and Matthieu Dufresne, 29 all of Cornwall. It is alleged that during the search of the residence police located 5 ounces of cocaine with a street value of approximately $7500.00 and 52 grams of marihuana valued at approximately $350.00 along with a quantity of Canadian Currency. All three men were charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marihuana and possession of property obtained by crime. The men were later released and are scheduled to appear in court on March 11th, 2014.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 8th, 2014 and charged with breach of recognizance for having communicated with her ex-boyfriend despite being on conditions not to communicate with him. She was also charged with two counts of breach of probation as she was bound by two separate probation orders to keep the peace. It is alleged that on February 8th, 2014 the youth attended her ex-boyfriends place of work and police were contacted. On February 8th, 2014 police located the youth at a McConnell Street address, took her into custody and charged her accordingly. She was transported to police headquarters where she was held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on February 9th, 2014 and charged with breaching two probation orders for being out past curfew, consuming alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on February 9th, 2014 the youth who had been drinking was spotted out past curfew by a member of the Cornwall Community Police. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on March 13th, 2014.His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 34-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on February 6th, 2014 and charged with breaching his probation order for having communicated with his 34-year-old ex-girlfriend despite being on conditions not to and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on January 22nd, 2014 the man contacted his ex-girlfriend by way of a phone call. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On February 6th, 2014 the man was located at the Cornwall Court House, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

Cornwall, ON – Dominic Pensom, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on February 6th, 2014 and charged with breaching his recognizance for failing to appear for prints. It is alleged that on December 12th, 2013 the man failed to appear for prints as required and on February 6th, 2014 the man was located at the Cornwall Court House, taken into custody and charged accordingly. He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED, MAN CHARGED

(North Dundas) – On February 9th, 2014 at approximately 4:15am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on South Street, North Dundas Township. Information led officers to intercept the vehicle on County Road 43 a short time later. The male driver was also found to be under the influence of alcohol and unlicensed.

Matthew NIGHTINGALE (19) of North Dundas was arrested and is charged with;

– Take Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent
– Driving While Ability Impaired
– Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Drive Motor Vehicle-No License (Highway Traffic Act)

He was released to appear in Morrisburg court on March 4th, 2014.

 

EXCESSIVE SPEED

(South Glengarry) – On February 9th, 2014, SD&G OPP officers had the occasion to intercept two vehicles travelling at excessive speeds on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.

– 7:20am – vehicle clocked at 154km/h in a 100km/h zone, male drive from Quebec charged.
– 7:00pm – vehicle clocked at 160km/h in a posted 100km/h zone, female driver from Quebec charged.

Both vehicles and driver’s licenses were seized as per legislation.

  1. For the record, again. I hate this police blotter. These are petty crimes reported by petty people and enforced by bored cops.
