Town Hall Closure
The Town Hall will be closed Friday, April 18 (Good Friday) and Monday, April 21 (Easter Monday). Staff will be available at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, April 22.

Garbage and Recycling
On Friday, April 18 recycling and garbage collection will be one day later – Saturday, April 19.There will be no changeto your recycling or garbage collection the week of April 21-25.
Landfill Site
Due to the Easter holiday, the landfill site will be closed on Friday, April 18 (Good Friday) and will re-open on Saturday, April 19 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
2014 Household Hazardous Waste Days
The Township of South Stormont and the City of Cornwall have an agreement for Township residents to dispose of both hazardous waste and e-waste at the City of Cornwall depot at 2590 Cornwall Centre Road West.

FOR TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH STORMONT
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW MEDICAL CLINIC
INGLESIDE, ONTARIO
The Township of South Stormont is seeking bids from interested qualified trade contractors for the construction of the above noted project.
The project consists of a new approximately 6000 sq.ft. building for a Medical Clinic and associated works.
Scope of work to be tendered to qualified Trades Contractors to include:
Supply of granulars and sand backfill
Prefinished Siding
Installation of sewer and water services
Aluminum Windows and Doors
Landscaping Rough
Finished Carpentry
Concrete foundation and slabs
Eavestrough
Reinforcing Steel supply
Hollow metal doors and Accessories

Work is to start in early May and be substantially completed by August 29, 2014.
Tender documents will be available to qualified Trade Contractors that express interest in writing (by fax or email) to CIBS Construction head office. Contractors will be required to provide references of similar sized projects to prove qualifications.
Bids will be received at CIBS Construction head office for each trade group on a specified date and time. Dates and times will be staggered through the construction process. Lowest or any bid not necessarily accepted.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Township of South Stormont is seeking interested and qualified individuals for the full-time positions as follows:
(1) Administrative Assistant – Community Services (Public Works and Fire Departments), and
(1) Administrative Assistant – Building, Planning and Administration Departments.
Reporting to the Directors of the Senior Management Team, the Administrative Assistant’s focus will be the provision of administrative support; a job description is available. Skill requirements include work planning and organization; written communications; and knowledge of operations and service delivery. Experience relevant to major tasks, outstanding computer skills and knowledge of applicable software programs including GIS, knowledge and understanding of budgeting processes, excellent written and verbal communications along with organizational and time management skills are essential.

Municipal Election 2014
On October 27, 2014, electors across the Township will exercise their right to vote in the municipal election via telephone, internet or composite paper ballot with tabulators. Reduced Load
Delayed Start to Half-load Season
The implementation of the half-load season will be delayed due to cold weather.
The half load season, which usually runs from the beginning of March until May is the time of year when vehicles are restricted to carrying a maximum of five tonnes per axle on the weaker roads located throughout the region. Signs will be posted when it is deemed advisable to protect the road base from damage and removed when it is deemed that the pavement strength has been restored. FINANCE
Property Taxes
The interim property tax bills have been mailed and are due March 31, 2014. If you have not received your tax bill, please contact the Town Hall as soon as possible.
The Township offers many methods of payment such as automatic withdrawal, telephone/internet banking, in person, by cheque, and at most financial institutions. Please ensure that your method of payment allows sufficient time for processing; payments must be received at the Township office by the due date.
For your information a penalty of 1.25% is added to all outstanding tax accounts the day after the payment due date and continues to be added on the first day of each month until the account is paid in full.

Dog Tags
2014 dog tags are in the process of being mailed out and are due April 30, 2014. If you have not received your dog tag invoice by April 15, please call the Town Hall.

Movin’ & Groovin’ – Ontario Early Years Program
This program is intended for pre-school children 18 months and older. Come join this interactive program that will incorporate the ABC’s of learning (agility, balance, coordination).
