Cornwall Ontario 10th Sexual Assault of 2014 – Police Blotter – 83 Year Old Charged With Assault!

Cornwall, ON – Derek Mayer, 31 of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2014 and charged with break and enter, robbery and breach of probation order for having failed to keep the peace. As a result of an incident that occurred on March 11th, 2014 at a Carleton Street address where another man was charged police continued with their investigation and on March 25th, 2014 Derek Mayer attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – Shawna Chartrand, 21 of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that the woman failed to attend court on March 20th, 2014 and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On March 25th, 2014 police attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the woman was there on unrelated matters. She was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and later released to appear in court on April 17th, 2014.

 

THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – Ryan Meek, 30 of Cornwall was arrested on March 25th, 2014 and charged with threats to cause bodily harm. It is alleged that on March 24th, 2014 the man left a message threatening to throw a 41-year-old woman down the stairs if she was to return to his residence. Police were called and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2014 police attended the man’s residence, took him into custody and charged him accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on April 17th, 2014.

 

ASSAULT, THREATS

 

Cornwall, ON – A 23-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 25th, 2014 and charged with threats to life and assault. It is alleged that on March 25th, 2014 during an argument the woman pushed her 24-year-old ex-boyfriend and threatened to kill him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation police took the woman into custody, charged her accordingly and held her for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

Cornwall, ON – An 83-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 25th, 2014 and charged with assault and threats. It is alleged that during the Month of March, 2014 the man threatened to kill his 83-year-old wife and at one point grabbed her by the neck. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 22nd, 2014. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

COUNTERFEIT MONEY

 

Cornwall, ON – Brian Workman, 32 of Oxford Mills was arrested on March 25th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on two separate occasions in the month of March, 2013 the man gave clerks at local businesses counterfeit $100 American bills and on one occasion attempted to pass another counterfeit bill. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 25th, 2014 police attended the Cornwall Courthouse as the man was in custody on an unrelated matter. Police executed the warrant, charged him accordingly and the man remained in custody for a bail hearing.

 

SEXUALL ASSAULT

 

Cornwall, ON – Tate Jocko, 24 of Akwesasne was arrested on March 26th, 2014 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged that on February 28th, 2014 while at a friend’s residence the man inappropriately touched a 34-year-old woman who was present Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 26th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 22nd, 2014.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 36-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 26th, 201 4 and charged with several sex related offences. It is alleged that the man sexually assaulted his 17-year-old daughter on three separate occasions during 2013. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 26th, 2014 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released with a court date of April 29th, 2014. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

 

ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON AND MISCHIEF

 

Cornwall, ON – A 25-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 26th, 2014 and charged with assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and mischief. It is alleged that on March 26th, 2014 the woman was involved in an argument with her 42-year-old common law husband when she pointed a knife at him and struck him several times by way of kicking him and slapping him. The woman also damaged a door frame during the argument. Police were called and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. The woman’s name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

THEFT UNDER $5000, FRAUD UNDER $5000, RESIST ARREST

 

Cornwall, ON – Katlen Moore, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on March 24th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000, fraud under$5000 and resist arrest. It is alleged that on March 24th, 2014 the woman attended a Pitt Street store attempting to return clothing items that she had taken from the store earlier in the day without making attempts to pay for them. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the woman who was attempting to flee the area was taken into custody after a brief struggle with police. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 17th, 2014.

(South Dundas) – On 26Mar14, at approximately 3:00pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a fire on County Road 31, South Dundas Township.

The investigation revealed that a 16yr old youth had set a fire in a residence causing minor damage to an upstairs room.

The 16yr old male (from South Dundas) was arrested and faces charges of:

– Arson – Damage Property
– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was held in custody pending an appearance in Cornwall court.

It is alleged that:

– on Sunday, March 16, 2014, acting on information from the Toronto Police Service’s Firearm Enforcement Unit, the Canada Border Services Agency stopped a couple and their two children as they crossed into Canada on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls
