ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON
Cornwall, ON – A 22-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 31st, 2014 and charged with assault and assault with a weapon. It is alleged that on March 31st, 2014 the woman was involved in a verbal argument with her 22-year-old boyfriend when she struck him in the ear with a phone. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation it was also learned that the man was slapped by his ex-girlfriend approximately one month prior. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
SEXUAL ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 31st, 2014 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged that in early March, 2014 the man inappropriately touched his 27-year-old ex-girlfriend. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
Ottawa Police Service
The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a recent bank robbery.
On Friday March 28, at approximately 3:00 pm, a lone suspect entered a banking institution situated along the 400 block of Preston St. The suspect approached a bank employee and made a verbal demand for cash. The suspect indicated he had a gun though none was observed. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash. There were no injuries.
The suspect is described as being male, possibly of middle eastern descent, approximately 30-40 years of age, approximately 5’5”-5’8” (165-173cm), short hair or possibly bald. The suspect was English speaking but did have a noticeable accent. He was wearing a black long sleeved hooded sweatshirt, and navy blue sweat pants. Witnesses described the suspect as appearing unkempt (see attached images.)
