DRUG WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Martine Beriquez, 44, Andre Peloquin, 53 and Andre Peloquin Jr., 20 all of Cornwall were arrested on April 4th, 2014 and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. It is alleged that on April 4th, 2014 members of the Cornwall Street Crime Unit executed a warrant at a Leonia Street address and located just over 14 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1176.00. As a result of the warrant three persons were arrested and charged accordingly. They were all later released to appear in court on May 6th, 2014.
CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH
Cornwall ON – A 40-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on April 5th, 2014 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that throughout the evening of April 4th, 2014 the woman sent several text messages to her 33-year-old ex-partner despite having been warned not to. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On April 5th, 2014 during their investigation police located the woman at her residence, took her into custody and charged her accordingly. She was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
IMPAIRED, ASSAULT PEACE OFFICER, THREATS, BREACH and FAIL TO PRIVIDE
Cornwall ON – Joeanna Gagne of Hogansburg NY was arrested on April 6th, 2014 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault peace officer, two
counts of threats to life and breach of an undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of April 6th, 2014 the woman was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol at the port of entry. She was taken into custody at which time she kicked two CBSA officers and threatened to return with a gun and kill them. Police were contacted and assumed custody of the woman who now refused to provide a sample of her breath. She was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

Cornwall On – Nolan Jacobs, 31of Cornwall 31 of Hogansburg NY was arrested on April 5th, 2014 and charged with over 80. It is alleged that on April 5th, 2014 the man was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol at the port of entry. He was taken into custody and police were contacted. A member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the man and charged him accordingly. He was later released to appear in court on April 17th, 2014.
Cornwall, ON – Alanna Wall, 37 of Ingleside was arrested on April 6th, 2014 and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and fail to remain at the scene of an accident. It is alleged that on April 6th, 2014 the woman was found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in the area of Second Street and Glengarry Boulevard. The woman was taken into custody during a traffic stop when it was learned that she had previously struck a vehicle while in the area of Second Street West and left the scene. She was charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on April 17th, 2014.
ASSAULT, MISCHIEF
Cornwall, On – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 6th, 2014 and charged with assault and mischief. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of April 6th, 2014 during an argument with his 30-year-old common law wife he flipped the chair she was sitting in and punched a hole in the wall. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT, SEXUAL ASSAULT and FORCIBLE CONFINEMENT
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on April 6th, 2014 and charged with assault, sexual assault and forcible confinement. It is alleged that on April 6th, 2014 during an argument with his 26-year-old girlfriend the man pushed her against the wall and blocked her path so that she could not leave the residence. During the argument the man also inappropriately touched the woman. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.

(South Stormont) –On 06Apr14, at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP officers observed a vehicle eastbound on Highway 401, South Stormont Township travelling at a high rate of speed.
When officers activated their emergency lights the male driver signalled to pull over then sped off. The vehicle was subsequently stopped and the 23yr old male driver (Nalimjoy SIVARAJAH of Montreal, QC) was arrested.

Suspicious incident, Pet owners warned of health risk, Baird Park

On Sunday, April 6, 2014, police were called to the leash-free dog park at 275 Keele Street (Baird Park).
Police attended and located several pieces of chocolate that had been scattered within the fenced area of the park.
City officials have closed the dog park, pending further investigation.
Studies indicate that some forms of chocolate may be harmful or fatal for dogs.
