10 Year Old Boy 15th Sexual Assault Victim in Cornwall Ontario – Police Blotter for Tuesday May 27, 2014 CPS OPP OPS

            Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 26th, 2014 and charged with failing to appear for prints. It is alleged that on May 22nd, 2014 the youth failed to attend for prints as directed. On May 26th, 2014 she attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court at a later date. Her name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

            Cornwall, ON – Rodney Seguin, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2014 and charged with failing to appear for prints. It is alleged that on May 7th, 2014 the man failed to attend police headquarters for prints as required. On May 26th, 2014 the man was located by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service in the area of Walton Street and McConnell Avenue and taken into custody. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

BREACH

            Cornwall, ON – Laura Primeau, 27 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2014 and charged with breaching her recognizance for failing to report to police as required. She was also charged with breaching two probation orders for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on May 23rd, 2014 the woman failed to attend police headquarters as required to sign in and an investigation ensued. On May 26th, 2014 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service spotted the woman walking in the area of Walton Street and McConnell Ave. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

SEXUAL ASSAULT, SEXUAL INTERFERENCE, INVITATION TO SEXUAL TOUCHING

            Cornwall, ON – Tyler McMurdock, 24 of Deseronto was arrested on May 26th, 2014 and charged with several criminal code offences including: sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching and possession of child pornography. Police learned that between September, 2013 and January, 2014 while in Cornwall the man sexually assaulted and video recorded the assaults of a 10-year-old boy who was known to him. An investigation ensued and the man was charged with 16 criminal code offences and held for a bail hearing.

WARRANT

            Cornwall, ON – Stephanie Portieous, 29 of Cornwall was arrested on May 26th, 2014 on the strength of a probation office warrant. It is alleged that the woman breached her conditional sentence order and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 26th, 2014 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

Investigating a pharmacy robbery

(Ottawa) – The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent pharmacy robbery and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible.

On Monday, May 19, 2014, a lone male suspect entered a pharmacy situated along the 1000 block of Bank Street near Sunnyside.  The suspect approached the pharmacy and produced a note making a demand for prescription drugs.  Though the suspect suggested he was armed, no weapon was seen.  The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of drugs.  The suspect was observed to have arrived at the pharmacy on a bicycle from Sunnyside Avenue, west of Bank Street. He fled westbound on Sunnyside after the robbery, again on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, white, late 40’s or early 50’s, clean shaven, approximately 6′ tall (183 cm), wearing sunglasses, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap, a black t-shirt with AC-DC band logo on the front, black gloves, blue jeans, and white sneakers.  The suspect was riding a black hybrid or mountain style bicycle (images attached).

Shooting Incident on Elgin Street

 

(Ottawa) -On the 24th day of May 2014 at approximately 2:49 AM the Ottawa Police Service responded to a shooting that occurred outside a bar in the 300 block of Elgin Street.    Once on scene, police located numerous shell casings.

No injuries were reported.  Investigation continues by members of the Guns and Gangs Section.

Seeking public’s help in shooting incident on 417 at approximately 10:30 PM

(Ottawa) -On Friday, May 23, 2014 at approximately 10:30 PM, the Ottawa Police and the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a reported shooting on the eastbound Queensway near the Rochester exit. A vehicle travelling with 5 occupants was struck by 2 bullets. No persons were injured as a result of the incident.

Investigation continues by members of the Guns and Gangs Section.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] OPP NEEDS PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE 2014-05-27

(South Stormont) – On 26May14, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of damage to a stone fence at the junction of Highway 138 and County Road 18, South Stormont Township.

The investigation revealed that sometime between the evening hours of 22nd May and the early hours of 23rd May an unknown vehicle struck the stone wall at the St. Andrews Church cemetery. The damage to repair the wall is estimated at $6000.00.

Police are requesting anyone with any information please call their local detachment or Crime Stoppers.

Ontario Provincial Police News Portal [STORMONT DUNDAS and GLENGARRY] Traffic Stop Nets Drugs 2014-05-27

(South Stormont) – On 26May14, at approximately 2:30pm, an OPP HSD ( Highway Safety Division) member had occasion to conduct a traffic stop on Highway 401, South Stormont Township.

The stop resulted in the seizure of approximately 19grams of suspected marihuana. The 20yr old male driver (Aaron David LEVITIN Toronto, On) was arrested and faces a charge of:

– Poss. of a Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana

He is scheduled to appear 08Jul14 in Cornwall court.

The approximate street value of the seized drugs is $190.00.
