MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 28-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on June 19th, 2014 and charged with mischief. It is alleged that on June 16th, 2014 during an argument with his 28-year-old girlfriend the man damaged a television with a stick and police were contacted. During the police investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
THEFT UNDER $5000
Cornwall, ON- Lisa Sauve, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on June 19th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000. It is alleged that on June 19th, 2014 the woman attended a Water Street store and selected several then made no attempts to pay for them as she left the store. She was stopped by store employees and police were contacted. The woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on July 22nd, 2014.
POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year_old Cornwall youth was arrested on June 19th, 2014 and charged with breaching his undertaking for being out past curfew, associating with someone he has conditions not to and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on June 19th, 2014 police attended a Second Street West apartment for an unrelated matter and found the man to be in the company of someone for which he has conditions not to associate with. The youth was also found to be breaching his curfew. He was taken into custody and during this time was found to be in possession of a cell phone that did not belong to him. He was charged accordingly and held in custody for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
TRESPASS BY NIGHT, POSSESSION OF PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME
Cornwall, ON – Two 16-year-old youths and a 17-year-old youth from Cornwall were arrested on June 19th, 2014 and charged with possession of stolen property while one of the 16-year-old youths was also charged with trespass by night. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of June 19th, 2014 police attended the area of Second Street West in relation to a suspicious persons call when they found the youths to be in possession of property that was removed from parked cars. During the police investigation all three youths were taken into custody and charged accordingly. They will be attending court at a later date. Their names were not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Ottawa Police Service:
On Tuesday, June 17, 2014, the Ottawa Police Service Tactical Unit executed two simultaneous warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act in the 0-100 block of Speers Crescent and the 2900 block of Richmond Road.
As a result of the investigation, detectives from the Drug Unit seized 957 marihuana plants from Speers Crescent, valued at $957,000.00, and 4,971 grams of dried marihuana valued at $49,710.00.
A 2013 BWM and a 2006 Toyota minivan were seized as offence-related property. A 2011 BMW X6 was seized as proceeds of crime.
Thien An HUYNH (m), 46 years old, of Ottawa was charged with Production of a Schedule II Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule II Substance and Theft of Electricity over $5,000.00.
Thuy Dieu NGUYEN (f), 35 years old, of Ottawa was charged jointly with HUYNH for Possession of Proceeds of Crime over $5,000.00.
They were released on a promise to appear.
On Thursday June 19, 2014, the Ottawa Police Service, Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Section, charged an Ottawa man after a report of a Sexual Assault.
On Sunday, June 15, 2014, officers in West Division responded to a call from a parent who reported his daughter had been sexually assaulted by a male tutor. The incident occurred that evening and she reported it upon returning home from the tutoring session. An investigation was commenced.
On June 19, 2014 the Sexual Assault & Child Abuse Section charged Mohammad ALI, 66-year-old, of Ottawa with one count of Sexual Assault, one count of Sexual Exploitation and one count of Sexual Interference. He is to appear in court on June 20th, 2014.

The Ottawa Police Service Human Trafficking Unit has arrested and charged Ricardo SPENCE, 31 year old of Ottawa with Human Trafficking related offences.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2014, SPENCE was arrested by the R.O.P.E. (Repeat Offender Provincial Enforcement); and he was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Wednesday, June 18th. The Human Trafficking charges stem from a complaint last September and the Ottawa Police had issued a warrant for his arrest on September 18th.
SPENCE is charged with the following:
* Trafficking in Persons by Exercising Control
* Financial / Material Benefit
* Withholding Documents
* Forcible Confinement
* Assault
* Assault with Weapon or Imitation Weapon
* Uttering Threats / Death or Bodily Harm
* Failure to Comply / Condition of Undertaking to Officer
It is believed that there could be other victims and the Human Trafficking investigators are urging them to come forward.
