SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION CLOSES ROADWAY – UPDATE
(North Dundas) – SD&G OPP officers continue their investigation of a serious collision involving two vehicles which occurred today (03Jul14) at approximately 3:45pm on County Road 31, south of County Road 13, North Dundas Township.
A Pontiac Sunfire, driven by lone occupant Andrew JURGENS (20) of South Dundas was southbound on County Road 31 when, for reasons under investigation, his vehicle crossed into the southbound lane colliding head-on with a northbound Buick Century, driven by lone occupant Mary VANDERLAAN (80) of North Dundas. Firefighters attended as extrication was required. Both drivers were taken to hospital by land ambulance with serious injuries.
A section of County Road 31 between County Road 13 and County Road 43 remains closed and traffic is being re-routed, therefore slow-downs are expected and signs erected. The closure is expected to be in effect until approximately 10:00pm.
SD&G OPP, assisted by Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue to process and investigate the scene.
