WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 17-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 12th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on August 14th, 2014 the youth failed to attend court for breach charges and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 12th, 2014 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the youth as OPP had the youth detained on the strength of the warrant. The youth was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on September 12th, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on August 28th, 2014 the youth failed to attend court and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On September 12th, 2014 a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service spotted the youth walking in the area of Montreal Road and Louisa Street. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and later released to appear in court at a later date. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on September 13th, 2014 and charged with assault. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of September 13th, 2014 while at a local bar the man punched his 19-year-old girlfriend in the face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation the man was located in the area of McConnell Avenue and Ninth Street. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on October 21st, 2014. His name was not released as it might identify the victim in the matter.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Kevin Simser, 30 of Ottawa was arrested on September 13th, 2014 and charged with breaching his recognizance for being away from his place of residence and breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on September 13, 2014 the man ran from police during a traffic stop on Eleventh Street. After a short period of time he was located hiding under a porch at a Fennell Crescent address. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT UNDER, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Peter Laxton, 37 of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2014 and charged with two counts of theft under $5000 and breach of probation for failing to notify change of address and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on September 14th, 2014 the man attended a Ninth Street Grocery store and removed several packages of meat making no attempts to pay for the items. The man was followed by a store staff member who flagged down a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service who was on patrol. The man was later located hiding behind a boat at a Ninth Street address. He was taken into custody and during this time was found to be in possession of clothing that was stolen from a Pitt Street store. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
THEFT UNDER $5000, MISCHIEF, ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Amanda Stevenson, 19 of Cornwall was arrested on September 14th, 2014 and charged with theft under $5000, mischief and assault. It is alleged that on September 12th, 2014 the woman took an X-Box and dog food from a man that is known to her and damaged his television. It is also alleged that on a separate occasion the woman slapped the man in the face. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On September 14th, 2014 during their investigation the woman was located at a Gleason Avenue address, taken into custody, charged accordingly and later released to appear in court on October 28th, 2014.
SD&G OPP
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATIONS
(South Glengarry) – On September 14, 2014 SD&G OPP began an investigation into a reported domestic situation which occurred in August 2014 at a residence on Poirier Avenue, South Glengarry Township. A couple visiting friends became involved in an altercation which resulted in an adult male assaulting his girlfriend.
The 38 year old male (from Dollars-Des-Ormeaux, Quebec) was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall at a later date. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
(North Glengarry) – On September 14, 2014 SD&G OPP officers began an investigation into a reported break-in at a residence on McNab Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation revealed an adult male had entered the residence of his ex-girlfriend. Further information indicated the male had assaulted the female on several incidents dating back to 2013 and 2014.
The 25 year old male (from Sainte Justine de Newton, Quebec) was arrested and is charged with;
– Assault (3 counts)
– Break, Enter a Place and Commit an Indictable Offence
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October7, 2014. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
IMPAIRED DRIVER
(South Glengarry) – On September 14, 2014 at approximately 10:06pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The vehicle was intercepted and a check of the adult male driver indicated he was under the influence of alcohol.
Stephane PELLETIER (40) of Sorel-Tracy, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;
– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on October 30, 2014.
MISCHIEF-HARASSMENT
(South Dundas) – On September 12, 2014 at approximately 9:12am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a family dispute at a residence on Marcellus Road, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had caused damage within the home and threatened an elderly family member. Further investigation also resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana and cocaine from the home.
A 23 year old male was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief (2 counts)
– Criminal Harassment-Threatening Conduct
– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 16, 2014. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
RESIDENTIAL FIRE
(North Glengarry) – On September 13, 2014 at approximately 2:39pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a residential fire at a vacant home on Linsley Street East in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry. Fire Department members attended to tend to the fully engulfed structure. No injuries resulted.
SD&G OPP officers are assisting investigators from the Ontario Fire Marshall’s (OFM) office with the investigation.

Brockville Police Service
Brockville Police are looking for the owner of a blue Pelican Kayak. It was discovered floating in the area of the Brockville Yacht Club.

In the evening on September 11th, Brockville Police responded to a disturbance between two males at a north end apartment complex.
The investigation resulted in a local 22 year old male being charged with Uttering Threats. The second male, 19 years of age, was charged with Weapons Dangerous, Uttering Threats and Breaching conditions of an Undertaking which he was released on for unconnected criminal charges.
Both parties were released with future court dates. No injuries were sustained.
On August 22nd, 2014 police stopped a male driver of a motor vehicle and issued him a ticket for a traffic offence. On September 11th, police discovered that the driver had passed himself off as another male known to him.
As a result of the investigation, a local 37 year old male has been charged with Impersonation, driving while under suspension and other traffic offences. He was released from custody and issued a future court date.
On September 11th, Brockville Police took complaint from female party in regards to unwanted contact.
A 27 year old local male is currently incarcerated and was contacting the female by way of mail. One of the conditions of his sentence was to have no contact with the complainant. He was subsequently charged with breaching the court order.
