Cornwall, ON – Justin Pyper, 22 of Cornwall was arrested on October 2nd, 2014 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged that on July 15th, 2014 the man failed to attend court for a threat and assault charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On October 2nd, 2014 the man was located at a Lefebvre Avenue address. He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.

 

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – Patrick Ouellet, 35 of Cornwall was arrested on October 2nd, 2014 and charged with breaching his probation for having consumed alcohol and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged that on October 2nd, 2014 police attended a First Street East address in relation to a disturbance. Once on scene they observed the man to be intoxicated. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Dundas) – On October 3, 2014 at approximately 2:54am, an SD&G OPP officer responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on County Road 7, South Dundas Township. The vehicle was intercepted and a check of the adult female driver revealed she was under the influence of alcohol.

Irene DORE (27) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired
–  Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on October 16, 2014.

BREAK-IN – THEFT
(North Stormont) – On October 1, 2014 at approximately 4:30pm, SD&G OPP responded to a report of a break-in at a residence on McIntosh Road, North Stormont Township.

Investigation indicated that between 5:00am and 4:30pm on October 1, 2014, a garage on the property was entered and the following removed from inside; Cub Cadet lawn tractor (yellow/white) and a Husqvarna chainsaw (orange). An investigation continues.

CHARGES LAID IN COLLISION (update)

(South Dundas) – On September 29, 2014 following an ongoing investigation, SD&G OPP have charged the adult male driver involved in a single motor vehicle collision which occurred on September 10, 2014 at approximately 10:50pm on Lakeshore Drive, in the Village of Morrisburg, South Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated a 2005 Cadillac had travelled on Lakeshore Drive, went out of control and collided with a guardrail and a private dock. The vehicle then became submerged in the St-Lawrence River. Upon police arrival, the driver was not at the scene but was later identified on September 11, 2014.

Nathan TIBBEN (21) of South Dundas Township is charged with the following offences as per the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) and Liquor Licence Act (LLA) of Ontario;

– Fail to Remain at Scene of Accident (HTA)
– Fail to Report Accident (HTA)
– Careless Driving (HTA)
– Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Alcohol (LLA)

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 18, 2014.

Ottawa Police Service

(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in relation to an overnight pharmacy robbery.

On October 2, 2014, at approximately 2:55 am, a lone male suspect entered a drug store situated along the 2500 block of Bank St. The suspect, armed with a handgun, produced a note making a demand for prescription drugs.  The suspect wore a bandana and sunglasses.  The suspect fled the premises with a quantity of drugs.

The suspect was observed by responding patrol officers nearby.  The suspect was arrested and later transported to hospital for minor injuries after he struggled with officers.  He was treated and released.

One officer sustained minor injuries during the arrest and was treated at the scene by paramedics.  No one at the drug store suffered any injury.

Officers recovered the stolen property, as well as the handgun, which was determined not to be authentic.

Duncan MCCALLUM, 29 years old, of Ottawa is charged with the following offences:

  • Robbery with an offensive weapon
  • Wear Disguise
  • Possession of a weapon to commit an offence
  • Resist arrest
  • Assault with intent to resist arrest
  • Use imitation firearm in commission of an offence
  • Two counts breach of recognizance
  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance

MCCALLUM appeared in court yesterday.
