THEFT UNDER, OBSTRUCT

 

Cornwall, ON – Oren Lazore, 24 of Cornwall was arrested on August 26th, 2015 and charged with theft under $5000 and obstruct police. It is alleged on August 26th, 2015 the man attended a Ninth Street store and removed a quantity of meat making no attempt to pay for the items as he left the store. He was stopped by the loss prevention officers and police were contacted. Police took the man who identified himself as someone else into custody, charged him accordingly and released him to appear in court on October 1st, 2015.

BREACH

 

Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Ingleside man was arrested on August 25th, 2015 and charged with breaching his recognizance for communicating with his ex-wife and being within 30meters of her despite being on conditions not to. It is alleged on June 29th, 2015 the man attended an address where his wife was going to attend and made a gesture towards her. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 25th, 2015 the man was taken into custody by OPP on Cornwall’s charges and turned over to a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.

 

Cornwall, ON – A 35-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on August 25th, 2015 and charged with breaching her undertaking for having communicated with someone she has conditions not to communicate with and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged the woman married a 39-year-old man despite being on conditions not to communicate with him. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On August 25th, 2015 the woman attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as the conditions stem from a domestic incident and would identify the victim.

 

WARRANT

 

Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Napanee youth was arrested on August 25th, 2015 on the strength of a probation office warrant. It is alleged the youth breached his probation conditions and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On August 25th, 2015 the youth was taken into custody by OPP on Cornwall’s warrant and a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service assumed custody of the youth from OPP. The youth was held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Glengarry) – On August 26, 2015 at approximately 8:52pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

David CALDER (65) of South Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 17, 2015.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Dundas) – On August 26, 2015 at approximately 11:03pm, Stormont, Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on South Branch Road, North Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a couple resulted in the female being assaulted.  The accused also caused damage to the residence and threatened the victim.  Further investigation revealed that the male had a Firearm and ammunition stored carelessly.

The 46-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault

– Mischief

– Uttering Threats

– Careless storage of Firearm and Ammunition (2 counts)

– Breach of Recognizance

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on August 27, 2015. The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

BREAK IN

(South Stormont) – On August 26, 2015 at approximately 8:57am SD&G OPP officers responded a report break-in at a business on Highway 138, South Stormont Township.  Investigation indicated that sometime between 7:30pm August 25, 2015 7:45am August 26, 2015 culprit(s) forcibly entered a shed and removed a quantity of food and beverages, plus a power tool from Papa Joe’s Chip Stand.

An investigation continues.

TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

(North Stormont) – On August 25, 2015 at approximately 11:35am, Stormont Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 138, North Stormont Township. A check of the male driver revealed his driving privileges disqualified stemming from previous driving related offences.

Bwindja TABARO (27) of Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive Disqualified

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on October 6, 2015.
