MISCHIEF
Cornwall, ON – A 29-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 19th, 2016 and charged with mischief. It is alleged during an argument on March 19th, 2016 the man damaged his ex-girlfriend’s school project and police were contacted to investigate. During their investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
ASSAULT, OVERCOME RESISTANCE
Cornwall, ON – A 51-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 19th, 2016 and charged with three counts of assault and one count of overcome resistance (choking). It is alleged during an argument on March 19th, 2016 the man pushed and kicked his girlfriend and pushed her daughter. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. During their investigation police were advised of another incident that occurred in 2015 where the man had choked his girlfriend. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victims in the matter.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Robert Bracken, 77 of Williamstown was arrested on March 19th, 2016 and charged with assault. It is alleged during a disagreement at a local gas station the man pushed the clerk and police were contacted to investigate. On March 19th, 2016 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 12th, 2016.
CAUSE DISTURBANCE, ASSAULT POLICE, BREACH, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Cornwall, ON – An 18-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on March 20th, 2016 and charged with cause disturbance, assault police, possession of a controlled substance and breach of a youth probation order. It is alleged during a disturbance investigation on March 20th, 2016 at an Arthur Street residence the man struck an officer. He was taken into custody and found to be in breach of his youth probation order for being out past curfew, being in the company of someone he has conditions not to associate with, consuming alcohol and for failing to keep the peace. He was also found to be in possession of a quantity of marijuana. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as the conditions stem from when the man was a youth and his identity is protected by the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
ASSAULT, ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON, POSSESSION OF A WEAPON FOR A DANGEROUS PURPOSE
Cornwall, ON – A 47-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on March 20th, 2016 and charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault. It is alleged during arguments on January 22nd, 2016 the woman punched her 39-year-old boyfriend in the face and on two occasions attempted to injure the man with a knife. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On March 20th, 2016 the woman was located by police, taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
THEFT UNDER $5000, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – Michael Pare, 46 of Cornwall was arrested on March 20th, 2016 and charged with theft under $5000, breach of two probation orders for failing to keep the peace and breach of recognizance for being outside his residence. It is alleged the man attended a Marlborough Street store on March 20th, 2016 and removed some jerky making no attempt to pay for the item as he left the store. He was stopped by the manager and police were contacted. The man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Evan Jarvis, 23 of Cornwall was arrested on March 20th, 2016 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man was responsible for a theft of money on February 2nd, 2016 and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 20th, 2016 the man was located at a Montreal Road address, taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and released to appear in court on April 26th, 2016.
REFUSAL
Cornwall, ON – Kyle Boots, 39 of Akwesasne was arrested on March 20th, 2016 and charged with refusal. It is alleged on March 20th, 2016 the man failed to provide a sample of his breath as required after a collision at the corner of Pitt Street and Fourth Street. He was charged accordingly and released to appear in court on April 7th, 2016.
