Two Impaired Charges for COURTNEY WORBOYS SD&G #OPP Round Up MARCH 21, 2016

IMPAIRED DRIVERS

(South Stormont) – On March 19, 2016 at approximately 1:56am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Highway 138, South Stormont Township. The stop revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Pierre LACOMBE (31) of North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired by Alcohol
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on March 29, 2016.
(North Stormont) – On March 18, 2016 at approximately 6:17pm, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 12, North Stormont Township. The stop revealed that the adult female driver was under the influence of alcohol. Upon arrest, the accused became resistant with the officers.

Courtney WORBOYS (30) of North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired by Alcohol
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Resist Peace Officer

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 7, 2016.

On March 20, 2016 at approximately 5:47pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report that the above noted female had taken a vehicle without consent and was again driving under the influence. She was intercepted in the Village of Berwick, North Stormont Township.

WORBOYS was again arrested and faces additional charges of;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired by Alcohol
– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood
– Take Motor Vehicle without Consent
She was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

DRUG OFFENCES

(South Glengarry) – On March 19, 2016 at approximately 9:59pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of quantities of suspected marihuana and oxycodone. Further information of the adult male driver revealed he was in contravention of conditions imposed from a previous incident.

Shivansh SHARMA (25) of Barrie, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)
– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
(South Glengarry) – On March 19, 2016 at approximately 10:39pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Maxime PIERRE (33) of Saint-Hubert, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled substance

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on May 11, 2016.
(South Glengarry) – On March 20, 2016 at approximately 12:39am, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a commercial vehicle on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of quantities of suspected cocaine, marihuana, oxycodone and methamphetamine.

The male driver, Carl CREELMAN (58) of Landesville, Nova-Scotia was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (4 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry) – On March 20, 2016 at approximately 10:31pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of an adult male breaching imposed conditions at a property on Boundary Road, South Glengarry Township.

Jamie MACDOUGALL (35) of South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (4 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

(South Glengarry) – On March 21, 2016 at approximately 6:07am, SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. A check of a male passenger revealed that he was in contravention of several conditions imposed from a previous incident.

Arumairatnam BALARATNAM (50) of Ville Saint-Laurent, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (6 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(North Stormont) – On March 20, 2016 at approximately 1:10am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in North Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his girlfriend resulted in the female being assaulted.

The 49-year-old male from North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault Causing Bodily Harm – Spousal

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Dundas) – Over the past weekend, SD&G OPP officers conducting speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Dundas Township intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. In both stops, the vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– March 18, 2016 – 9:40am; vehicle stopped travelling 163km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (28) from Saudi Arabia charged accordingly.

– March 19, 2016 – 9:12am; vehicle stopped travelling 152km/h (100km/h zone). Female driver (38) from Mississauga, Ontario charged accordingly.
