What you should do

If you think you became sick from eating a recalled product, call your doctor.

Check to see if you have recalled products in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk. Although infected pregnant women may experience only mild, flu-like symptoms, the infection can lead to premature delivery, infection of the newborn or even stillbirth. In severe cases of illness, people may die.

  1. I try to limit my intake of processed food to an absolute minimum (zero for me is not obtainable) I love to cook real food and strive to support local producers of food products. I am not a fan of radiated meat (now apparently legal in Canada since the change in government) I am concerned with our food supply chain and surprised that more people aren’t.

  2. Mr. Oldham I too am concerned about radiated meat and veggies have been played with for a long time now. My daughter used to purchase some of the bars and gave up. We can make them at home and we make our own food. Just now I am going to eat Lebanese and then we are off to get a few items at the stores. Quinoa is a healthy food from Argentina.

  3. I am very concerned about the radiation of meat and I have heard that veggies were being radiated for some time now. One lady who is a neighbor in one of the houses has a garden and I told her that I was going to raid her garden and she told me that she would sic her dog on me if I was found there. She works with my daughter and that I would make good friends with her dog. LOL LOL.

  4. We mostly eat chicken more than red meat and I told my husband that the red that he sees in the meat is mostly red dye done by the stores. We prefer chicken and make a variety of dishes out of chicken. We do have some hamburger meat in the freezer and will be using that soon. I did make spaghetti and we can’t eat that every day unlike Furtz. LOL LOL.

  5. Jules, everything on the planet is radiated, including you and me. I raise my own cattle, and the meat we put in the freezer will set off a geiger counter if it’s set to a sensitive enough range.

  6. Furtz you are right about us humans being radiated on a daily basis and the sun is so mighty strong these days. My daughter and I were talking about this subject on the way to the stores and your cattle would be outside a lot of the times and subject to radiation. My daughter found the sun too strong today and wished that we wore sun hats.

  7. About a couple of months ago my daughter had an appointment with her dermatologist here in Ottawa and I went with her and after her treating my daughter she sprayed my face with dry ice because she saw cancer spores. I came out looking like as if I was a drunk in a bar all night completely red and then red spots came out on my face and I had to treat it and went away after a few days.

  8. I make my own food here at home and hubby helps as well and this morning I made banana crumb muffins as a desert and second time and hubby loves them and I had four already. You would never see me eating out and always make food at home. We make from Lebanese to Canadian and we know what we are eating at least without the hidden things that nobody is aware of until reported. Make it yourself.
