South Stormont Man Charged After Throwing Water Bottle by OPP Oct 18, 2016

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Stormont) – On October 17, 2016 at approximately 8:44am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on County Road 44, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and his spouse resulted in the accused throwing a water bottle at the female striking her. No injuries resulted

The 63-year-old male from South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault With a Weapon – Spousal

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 29, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
THEFTS FROM VEHICLES

(South Stormont) – Overnight (October 16-17, 2016) – vehicles at four (4) properties on Highway 138 (3) and County Road 44 (1) were entered. Quantities of cash and personal documents (passports) were stolen.

Investigations continue.
BREAK-IN

(South Stormont) – On October 17, 2016 between 9:30am and 4:58pm, a residence and barn located on Sandtown Road, South Stormont Township were forcibly entered. Inside, assorted jewellery, a laptop computer, camera, tools, frozen food items and a set of truck tires were stolen.

An investigation continues.
