Charges laid in East End pharmacy robbery
(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid charges in connection to an Orleans pharmacy that occurred yesterday.
On October 31, 2016, at approximately 4:30 am, a lone male suspect entered a pharmacy situated along the 1900 block of Portobello Boulevard. The suspect was carrying a syringe and disguised with a hat and scarf. The suspect proceeded to the pharmacy area and made a demand for narcotics. The suspect fled the premises with an undisclosed quantity of prescription drugs. The suspect was arrested in the area a short time later by patrol officers.
Andrew McNAUGTON, age 30 of Ottawa, is charged with the following offences:
- Robbery with an offensive weapon
- Wear Disguise
- Possession of a weapon
McNAUGHTON will appear in court on November 1, 2016.
