CORNWALL ONTARIO – CFN finally confirmed that all bus service has been cancelled. The STEO uses really crappy net hosting with the site crashing whenever there’s a flake or two it seems.
They finally tweeted that all bus transportation is cancelled.
The area’s first major storm keeps delivering the white stuff with high winds making walking and driving treacherous and unpleasant.
Another 10-15cm are expected to fall before Tuesday morning with temps falling as low as -5c and feeling colder with the wind.
CFN will update as more reports come in.

Snowfall warning in effect for:
- Cornwall – Lancaster
- Maxville – Alexandria
- Morrisburg – Long Sault
- Winchester – Newington
A long period of snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected.
Periods of snow will taper to scattered flurries tonight. Additional snowfall amounts near 5 cm are expected today. Ottawa Airport has reported 15 cm as of 3 AM.
Strong northwest winds gusting up to 60 km/h will accompany the snow resulting in reduced visibility in blowing snow. Caution while driving is recommended.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
Schools are closed but where are the kids out shoveling snow? Parents — essentially the root of our education problem — are missing a teaching moment.
Hand kids a shovel, instruct them in its operation, identify the goal of cleaning the driveway or sidewalk, and presto… life lesson!
Parents that expect others to educate their kids, is no better than kids waiting for snow to clear itself.

Everybody gets a trophy. Competition is bad. Consequences are unfair. Get onboard everyone its 2016 and liberalism has improved everyone’s life. Justin is doing a great job. When he changes the flag and the countries name the transformation to our northern sanctuary will near completion.
And yet another snow day. Why? Because a little snow fell on the ground. Are we such wussies that a little snow scares us now?
Hugger1 …approximately 40% of Canada’s population are either new immigrants or children of new immigrants born in Canada (2nd generation). Canada is a much different nation than it was 30 years ago. Our identity has changed as have our values. Multiculturalism will continue to distance us from our past as we move into uncharted waters. Like Canada’s head boy has said “its 2016”.
David Oldham….maybe so. But IMHO we have become wusses when it comes to weather in the last twenty to thirty years.
Yes things are changing drastically and here in Ottawa along with other big cities white Canadians are a minority. Everywhere I look are people from the Middle East, Asia, Africa, etc. but hardly any white Canadians. The white race is disappearing and this was foretold since quite a long while and I see it happening first hand.
