Task Force on Gang-Related Murders
(Ottawa)—New investigative resources have been added to the Ottawa Police Service Major Crime Section to deal with the increase in homicides this year.
As part of this increase, a Task Force, comprising investigators from Major Crime, Guns and Gangs, and Street Crime, has been created to examine all unsolved gang-related murders.
The Task Force is specifically investigating all unsolved gang homicides that appear to be related. Investigators believe that some of the same individuals are involved in multiple murders in the city.
The investigative team is exploring those potential linkages between these murders.
