Additional Human Trafficking charges laid against Cameron LYONS
(Ottawa) – In October 2016, Cameron LYONS was arrested by the Ottawa Police Human Trafficking Unit and charged with offenses related to luring minors into the sex trade using false Facebook identities and the company VIP Entertainment. He was remanded into custody as a result of the original charges.
After the October incident, the Ottawa Police Service received over 20 contacts by email, phone and Crime Stoppers tips. New investigations were launched based on the information and on Thursday, January 5, 2017, LYONS appeared in court where the following additional charges were laid. He remains in custody.
Charges laid in relation to a minor female victim:
- 2 x Sexual assault under 16
- 2x Sexual interference under 16
- 2x Invitation to sexual touching under 16
- 1x Procure person under 18 to provide sexual services
Charges laid in relation to three adult female victims:
- 1x Sexual assault
- 3x Criminal harassment
- 2x Extortion
