Cornwall Ontario – Up to 10cm of snow are expected to fall in the Cornwall area before the end of Saturday with possibilities of ice pellets and mixed precipitation as well.
Temps are hovering around the magical zero celsius mark which means just about anything can and will fall from the sky.
Warmer temperatures start again on Sunday with next week thawing us out as we head for double digit temperatures for the first week of April!
Special weather statement in effect for:
- Cornwall – Lancaster
- Maxville – Alexandria
- Morrisburg – Long Sault
- Winchester – Newington
March will end on a wintery note.
Snow is expected to spread into the area tonight and continue Friday, although it may become mixed with ice pellets in some locales. The snow will begin to taper off towards Saturday morning, but not before 5 to 10 centimetres is likely in many areas. There may be some regions which receive somewhat higher amounts in the range of 10 to 15 cm by Saturday morning.
At this time, it does not seem likely that snowfall warnings will be required. However some uncertainty remains, and the evolution of this weather system continues to be monitored closely.
