#OPP Update Hwy 138 Sand Road Collision APRIL 20, 2017

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – HIGHWAY 138 (update)

(North Stormont) – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, with the assistance of OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) continue the investigation of a two (2) vehicle collision which occurred April 18 at approximately 11:18am on Highway 138 (north of Sand Road), North Stormont Township.

Investigation indicated that a passenger vehicle, driven by a 27-year-old male from Ottawa was travelling south on Highway 138 when, for reasons under investigation, crossed into the north lane and collided head-on with a transport truck, driven by a 37-year-old male from Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec. The adult male driver (lone occupant) of the passenger vehicle was taken to and remains in hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries. The truck driver (lone occupant) was not injured.

A section of Highway 138 between County Roads 43 (Monkland) and 15 (Moose Creek) remained closed to traffic until approximately 8:00pm last night when it was re-opened.
