CRIMINAL HARASSMENT, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 72-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 5th, 2017 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of probation for being within 150 meters of his ex-common-law wife and for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during the month of March and April, 2017 the man was found to be in breach of his conditions on several occasions and police were contacted to investigate. On May 5th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 16-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 5th, 2017 and charged with breach of undertaking for failing to attend school and failing to keep the peace. He was also charged with breach of probation for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 4th, 2017 the youth failed to attend school without permission and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the youth was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Cornwall, ON – Ali Hassan, 26 of Cornwall was arrested on May 5th, 2017 and charged with criminal harassment and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 3rd, 2017 the man attended someone’s residence on several occasions despite having been told by the resident to leave. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 5th, 2017 the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Cortland Skidders, 18 of Akwesasne was arrested on May 6th, 2017 and charged with assault. It is alleged on May 6th, 2017 the man pushed a 20-year-old woman known to him and police were contacted to investigate. During the investigation the man was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 8th, 2017.
SEXUAL ASSAULT
Cornwall, ON – Daniel Lalonde, 55 of Cornwall was arrested on May 6th, 2017 and charged with sexual assault. It is alleged on March 23rd, 2017 the man acted in an inappropriate manner while touching another person and police were contacted to investigate. On May 6th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court at a later date.
HARASSING PHONE CALLS
Cornwall, ON – A 33-year-old Cornwall woman was arrested on May 8th, 2017 and charged with harassing phone calls. It is alleged during the month of May, 2017 the woman repeatedly called her ex-partner despite having been told not to and police were contacted to investigate. On May 8th, 2017 the woman was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
THEFT UNDER $5000, POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLLED SUBSTANCE, POSSESSION FOR THE PURPOSE OF TRAFFICKING, PROPERTY OBTAINED BY CRIME, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – John Yade, 25 of Cornwall was arrested on May 8th, 2017 and charged with possession and trafficking of marijuana, magic mushrooms and speed. He was also charged with property obtained by crime (Canadian currency), breach of a peace bond for failing to keep the peace and breach of probation for being in possession of a knife and failing to keep the peace. It is alleged on May 8th, 2017 the man was spotted by a member of the Cornwall Community Police Service rummaging through someone’s vehicle in the area of McConnell Avenue South. He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a knife, a quantity of marijuana, magic mushrooms, cash and speed. He was charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
MISCHIEF, BREACH
Cornwall, ON – A 32-year-old Cornwall man was arrested on May 9th, 2017 and charged with mischief and breach of undertaking for failing to keep the peace. It is alleged during an argument with his wife on May 8th, 2017 the man damaged a picture frame and an ornament. Police were contacted and an investigation ensued. On May 9th, 2017 the man attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. He was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. His name was not released as it would identify the victim in the matter.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – A 15-year-old Cornwall youth was arrested on May 9th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the youth failed to attend court on April 20th, 2017 for breach charges and a warrant was issued for her arrest. On May 9th, 2017 the youth attended police headquarters to deal with the matter. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing. Her name was not released as per provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
CAUSE DISTURBANCE
Cornwall, ON – Daniela Nyvltova, 47 of Montreal was arrested on May 9th, 2017 and charged with cause disturbance. It is alleged on May 9th, 2017 the woman caused a disturbance by way of yelling and screaming while at a Montreal Road address. She was taken into custody, charged accordingly and released to appear in court on June 20th, 2017.
WARRANT
Cornwall, ON – Brodie Thompson, 23 of Akwesasne was arrested on May 9th, 2017 on the strength of a warrant. It is alleged the man failed to attend court on May 19th, 2016 for a robbery charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On May 9th, 2017 the man was stopped at the Port of Entry and police were contacted to attend He was taken into custody on the strength of the warrant and held for a bail hearing.
