Long Sault – The third week of The Community Farmers’ Market saw more new vendors set up shop in front of the building on County Rd 36. Bea’s Bread and The Pie Lady made their first appearance at the market and they couldn’t have picked a nicer day for it.

There is supposed to be a video of an interview with Catherine ten Den of “Deliciously Yours” but unfortunately the camera man had a senior moment and pressed the record button in the wrong order. The video camera was on before and after the interview but was turned off during it. At least the picture below shows just one of her terrific product lines.

A lot of people have been working behind the scenes to make the market work. One of the artists, Janet Winters Barry who sells her “Jars By Janet” in the store, is hand painting temporary roadside signs to attract passing drivers. Interestingly, she is re-purposing old election signs to finally be of some practical use.

The very pleasant weather brought quite a few shoppers to the farmers’ market to sample and purchase the goods offered by the growing number of vendors, including fresh baked pies by Colleen Fitzpatrick, The Pie Lady.

The shoppers also went into the main building to see even more of the local food products, arts and crafts and health supplements offered at this location.

The Community Market and Farmers’ Market are located at 16133 County Road 36, formerly know as Post Road. The hours for the store are 10 AM to 5 PM and the Farmers’ Market is open every Wednesday from 2 PM to 6 PM.
