FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – ROADWAY CLOSED
(South Stormont) – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers are currently at the scene of a two (2) vehicle fatal collision on Highway 401 (east of the Moulinette Road exit, Long Sault), South Stormont Township.
Preliminary investigation has indicated that at approximately 7:00am, a passenger vehicle travelling west on Highway 401 collided with an also westbound passenger van causing the van to rollover and car to enter the median. The adult female driver of the van (2 occupants) was pronounced deceased at the scene while a male passenger was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The adult male driver (lone occupant) of the car sustained minor injuries. Names are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

SD&G OPP, assisted by OPP Traffic Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to process the scene. A section of Highway 401 (westbound lanes only), between Brookdale Avenue and Moulinette Road is closed to traffic with indicated Emergency Detour Routes (EDR) in place.
