Pedestrian Fatality on CN Rail
(South Glengarry) – Stormont Dundas and Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a pedestrian fatality on CN Railway near Celtic Lane, South Glengarry.
At 7:50pm on July 3rd 2017, two male pedestrians were walking on a portion of CN Railway Bridge and were struck by a VIA train.
One male, from South Glengarry received life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The second male, from South Glengarry was transported to the hospital by paramedics with minor injuries.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.
The railway has since been re-opened shortly after 10:30pm.
The investigation is ongoing.
