(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Leeds County Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing investigations into incidents involving impaired drivers.
On July 29, 2017 at about 11:00 PM O.P.P officers were conducting a R.I.D.E check – Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere in Delta when after an investigation an Elizabethtown -Kitley Township man was arrested. 21 year old Carley SHANE was charged with the offence of Driving with More Than 80 Mgs of Alcohol in his Blood. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on September 1, 2017 to answer to his charge.
On the same date and location just before midnight, a second arrest was made for the same offence. 63 year old Tesfazgi Major TECLEBERHAN was stopped after an officer observed concerns for the drivers operation of his e-bike. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division in Brockville on September 1, 2017.
Both drivers found their vehicles towed and impounded.
Just after midnight a third driver at the same location was issued a three day licence suspension for his blood-alcohol concentration being in the warn range
Leeds OPP officers will remain diligent in conducting R.I.D.E checks throughout the county at different times and locations.
