Busy Weekend for SD&G #OPP Police Blotter 082217

DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A VEHICLE

 

(South Glengarry) – On August 21, 2017 at approximately 5:18pm, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Stormont Dundas and Glengarry officers attempted to intercept a vehicle following a report of a traffic complaint on Highway 401, South Stormont Township. The vehicle was located and failed to comply with the request and continued on until it was successfully intercepted by officers on County Road 2, South Glengarry Township. The investigation also revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of drugs.

 

Mohamad AHMAD (32) of North York, Ontario is charged with;

 

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired by drugs

– Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer

– Resist Peace Officer

 

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

 

 

STOLEN TRAILER RECOVERED

 

(South Stormont) – On August 8, 2017 at approximately 6:29pm, Stormont Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a Utility Trailer being taken from a property on County Road 2, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that overnight (August 7-8, 2017) a 2008 Roadmaster RMU Black Utility trailer with various power tools inside was stolen.

 

On August 12 2017, members from SD&G OPP executed a Search Warrant on a residence on Sixth Street West in Cornwall, Ontario. This resulted in the recovery of the stolen trailer and the various power tools.

 

Brandon Champagne (22) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

 

– Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

– Possession of Property obtained by crime ( 2 counts)

– Fail to Comply with condition of Undertaking

 

Julie Samson-Wood (40) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

 

– Possession of Property obtained by crime (2 counts)

 

Barry Michael Wood (49) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

 

– Possession of Property obtained by crime ( 2 counts)

– Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon

 

All three were released scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on 28th of September 2017.

 

 

BREAK IN

 

(South Dundas) – On August 21, 2017 at approximately 11:22am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to a report of a break-in at a business on Seibert Road, South Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated that sometime overnight August 19-21, 2017 culprit(s) entered the business and removed several electronics.

 

An investigation continues.

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

 

 

(North Glengarry) – On August 20, 2017 at approximately 3:28 am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Kenyon Concession Road 6, North Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

 

Corey Major (31) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on September 6, 2017.

 

 

IMPAIRED DRIVER

 

 

(North Dundas) – On August 20, 2017 at approximately 1:16pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Kerrs Ridge Road, North Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

 

Robert WATSON (70) of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

 

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

 

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 12, 2017.

 

 

STOLEN CAR

 

(South Stormont) – On August 21, 2017 at approximately 11:23 pm, Stormont Dundas &Glengarry Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a vehicle being taken from a property on Wales Road , South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that on August 21 a 2001 Beige 4 door Toyota Camry (plate #ATJN 571) was stolen.

 

 

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

 

 

(South Dundas) – On August 20, 2017, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Dundas Township and intercepted the following vehicles for travelling at excessive speeds. The vehicle was impounded and the driver’s permit seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

 

– August 20, 2017 – 8:16pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 151km/h (100km/h zone). Female driver (20) from Stoney Creek, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– August 20, 2017 – 10:21pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 158km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (28) from North York, Ontario was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).

 

– August 20, 2017 – 11:56pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 151km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (20) from Lavalle, Quebec was charged with Stunt Driving (Highway Traffic Act).
